Onions always at the ready
If you use a lot of dried onions this couldn't be better. They store well in glass jars. So much better than buying small jars.

Onions are scrumptious
I like the chopped and the powdered. I also like the granulated.

One of my kitchen staples
I will only use organic onions, and sometimes they aren't available fresh at my local store. A great substitute (and time saver) in any recipe where the onion flavor is desired but the texture is not crucial (soups, stews, chili etc) It also makes a wonderful "breading" and "sauce thickener" for things like roast chicken since I don't eat grains

Delicious, Convenient, but Expensive
Added to soup and stews, but unless you are pressed for time, you may find it too expensive to use on a regular basis.

Not Irradiated is Better
I purchased this because it isn't irradiated. Irradiation destroys most nutrients and vitamins. The other brand that Swanson carries is irradiated which means there's no nutrients left. They claim to do this to kill any potential pests or bacterias but what they don't tell you is it kills the good stuff along with the bad. More than ever, we have to research everything.

especially great for soups
I know if you do the math, and you're used to buying those bargain onion flakes, this seems like it's pricey. But don't forget, these are organic onions. And onions are too important to risk buying low grade quality produced en mass at your local grocery store. These are not dust particles. They work great in soups, on pizza and burgers, and come to life in any recipe where onions are called for that don't have to be raw. I've searched high and low for this bulk quantity. And you won't find a better deal, anywhere else.
