RefrigiWear Iron-Tuff Ice Parka - Men's Insulated Winter Work Coat, -50°F Comfort Rating, Water-Resistant & Windproof

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very well constructed winter parka. I need to move snow in -50 wind chill in Minnesota occasionally and this parka handles the weather. Long enough to keep your thighs covered and comfortable enough to sit on the tractor. I used to work in ice cream plant and Refrigiwear was standard issue for the freezer.

I have the matching coveralls but they were to warm to wear inside. I bought this wonderful item that has exceeded expectations.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 1. First and foremost, I had to select between the one piece coveralls with hood versus the overall bibs with the parka. I found the bibs and parka to be much more comfortable, whether walking around or bending over. Plus, they’re easier to put on and take off. 2. Design is outstanding! Love the very deep pockets on the side, the flap chest pocket, nice hood, and Velcro strap to cover up under the chin. Drawstrings on the inside would have been a nice touch, but not a huge deal. 3. Quality is the best!! Heavy duty brass zippers, brass buttons, and breast rivets at major stress points. Super thick nylon exterior reminds me of that of my ballistic nylon luggage. 4. I typically wear a size large parka or heavy down coat, but I ordered up two sizes for this given that I need to have two layers underneath to keep me warm at 0 F when I am relatively stationary. A little bit baggy is better for moving around as well as providing extra air to act as an insulator. 5. A removable hood extension with faux fur would have been nice to keep out the wind, as the hood doesn’t extend forward of my face. 6. Not -50F if your activity level is low. To keep warm at 0F I will wear a thermal long sleeve shirt, a cotton zip up hoodie, and a thick down parka underneath. Still, this is the best out there. Also, you simply size up for what you’re planning on wearing underneath. I typically wear a size large, but found the XXL to be perfect given my layers underneath. 7. Great customer service, by the way. Super nice, and they even went as far as to help me find a discount code for me to get 20% off. 8. A minor complaint is that I returned a previous version in which the zipper failed after the fourth time that I zipped it up. I did not mind making the return, but I did feel it was unfair to charge me six dollars for returning a defective item. 9. Be sure to keep the original tags when you first try this on and walk around with it a little bit, as they will not accept a return of an item without the tags.

Considering good parkas are often $500+ this is a great deal. I’ve only had it for a few weeks so I can’t speak to its durability, but so far I’m pleased.

I bought a parka big enough to layer my puffer coat under the parka. The parka, for the most part, lives in my truck for winter survival or days of below 0 degrees. I am retired, so I don't have to go outside, but I like having gear that I can count on. I am happy with the parka that I ordered.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own the iron tuff overalls they have saved me lots of times from power outage times to just wanting to lay down in the snow and take a nap. so if this iron tuff ice parka is anything like the iron tuff overalls i'm going to be warm just going to the grocery store in the winter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this coat for 30 degree weather (at or slightly below freezing) and I think it was probably overkill for that. I only tried it on before realizing the fit was not right for me, and I was very very toasty. I ended up returning it because the arms were a just a little long for me; the coat is designed for someone taller than me (I am 5’5”). I’m sad about that because the coat made me look really cool.
