While it is possible to leave the bottom shelf off to create additional storage space, please note that doing so may impact the overall stability of the bookshelf. The shelves help provide structural support to the side panels, so removing one could affect its integrity. I hope this helps!

A: Hi there! That's a great question about our Theo Bookshelf (65601 / Nutmeg-Matte Black). I see what you mean with those kitty-cornered shelves—they do look lovely! However, for this particular bookshelf, I’m not sure it would be feasible, as the shelves aren’t wide enough to reach the supports once modified. While it might be possible, I want to let you know that if you choose to DIY (do it yourself) and alter the original product, our warranty will not cover any resulting damages.

I absolutely love this bookcase. I started with two, then bought my third and just recently purchased my fourth. This is such an elegant and high impact piece. I love that you can mount them together (side by side) to make one giant bookcase/unit, or have them as stand alone pieces in areas of the house that need a little extra something - they look beautiful either way. I always get compliments on them and had to get the fourth once it was back in stock. If this has been sitting in your cart for a while, this is your sign to go for it :)

Sturdy, well-constructed ladder shelving that holds up to 55lbs per shelf. Nutmeg Matte wood shelving complimented by black iron stand. Easy to assemble and anchor into wall w/ provided mollies and screws. Many compliments on look and makes my office look complete. This is a well made shelf at an extremely affordable price…must have for any space!

Great design, support sides, installation. CHEAP, heavy, manufactured wood, plastic shelf paper covered shelves. From Canada no less, where wood is plentiful. Shoukd have been sanded, stained solid wood. SO disappointed. Makes my house look cheap. I coud have cried when I opened the box.

This bookshelf is super nice for a reasonable price! It’s tall, sturdy, and looks fantastic. My only gripe is that it doesn’t come with an offset screwdriver, which would’ve made securing it to the wall easier since the hole placement is a bit tricky. I grabbed one from the hardware store, and now it’s in there nice and secure. The instructions were super clear with helpful tips, and assembly only took about 20 minutes.

Got the all white ones and they look sleek and clean. Assembling the shelves was very easy. My only complaint was that I wish the position of the bracket (to attach the shelf to the wall) was angled differently because it was nearly impossible to fit a drill between the wall and the bookshelf. Also, a word of caution - I wouldn't recommend placing these on carpeted floors as we did. It was tough to get the shelves even but they look pretty good.
