Did not work as well as buying the seed and fertilized alone
I have always purchased seed, starter fertilizer, and peat moss when repairing patches. I saw the smart patch and decided to try it. I installed and watered regularly for 3 weeks with no growth.

Finally no more patchy grass!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was great! We live in a dry, hot climate and our grass has been struggling. Majorly. We have patches of completely dead grass. This product was easy to use and didn't get blown away or just dissipate with watering. It quickly helped fill in the patches. This was more effective than what our gardener had use previously.

Fast growing!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is perfect to fill in bare patches in your yard. The lid flips open so that you can easily spread it. I had a bare patch from my dogs running along a fence line and used this to fill in. I had grass growing in about two weeks. This is great if you have a small area to fill in. I still have some leftover that I plan to use in the spring.

Great Product for my lawn

This product clears those spots quickly especially with the microbials and organic matter in the mix. The drought tolerant qualities of the mix really help here in the Arizona climate.

Good root system for Southern yards!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We overseeded our yard with the Pennington Smart Patch and it seems like it provide some good support to our yard. We have a tendency to be overrun with wildflowers and clover and this product is holding its own in our yard so far. We'll see the real results in the summer if the grass withstands the heat, but I have a feeling this will hold up well based on what I've seen so far with the yard.

We had a few bare patches I'm our backyard so we used this to help fill in the holes. It worked like a charm. Within a couple of weeks we were sprouting new grass

Easy spreading
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a cool container. I know that seems like a weird attribute. But it was really easy for my wife to fill in some bare spots that we had in our yard. I sprayed and killed for Bermuda grass this summer. I thought since it was in an area where the auto sprinklers would keep it watered even in the middle of summer it would grow. I was wrong and my wife let me know how ugly the dead areas in our backyard look all summer. She enjoyed the jug application. Just pop the top and shake the seed out in desired area. She does not have the strength to push the whirlybird spreader. She enjoyed shaking the seed out in the yard so much. She went to shaking seed in some areas she thought needed some seed in the front yard. It took about 30 days to really see the results of the grass taking root. It probably does help that she spread the seed in the fall.

Quick cover ~ in 7 days
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Pennington Smart Patch Tall Fescue Mix grew well and quickly. We used some in the area on our driveway side. It is a mix of seed, mulch and fertilizer. In seven days we had a thin cover of grass. It looks sturdy now and I have high hopes that it will be much more thick and healthy come spring. Our weather has been eratic but it is still growing. Its been about 3 weeks and we did cut it a few days ago.

It works!

After about 2 weeks, I couldn’t see anything coming up and was about to give up. But on the 3rd week, I started to see some growth. Now most of the patch is showing some growth. If it will continue to come in like it is now, I’ll have my bare spot covered.

My grass is finally starting to fill in
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our front yard has never really had much grass in it since we have lived here its always had a lot of patches where no grass grows and it looked terrible. It was even resodded not long before we bought the house and most of that sod died that first year. The issue seems to be caused by poor drainage and the yard having a bit too much of a slope towards the road. The combination of which just seemed to cause any grass or sod we put in to practically slide off into the road the first time we got a lot of rain. To try and fix that we brought in some top soil and tried to make the slope less steep and severe and then we started spreading grass seed and slowly but surely we began to see our work pay off and our lawn had finally begun to grow. We still had a few thinner areas and patches where there was no grass growing and that is where I spread this Pennington smart patch tall fescue mix and I can see where grass is finally starting to fill those patches in.

Be patient and follow the instructions..

It was quite unsightly and I was hoping this fescue mix would help. I waited for fall to arrive to try it out. It took a few days, around 8 to 9 days to be exact for us to see grass start to grow, but I am so happy it works! I watered it every day and ensured to keep the patch moist. All I'll say is be patient, follow instructions and ensure to water regularly. We now have a not completely bare patch. It isn't exactly at par with our lawn, but at least it's no longer bare.

Grow grass
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So happy that it arrived just in time, my grass needed a little help since it was becoming a little patchy. My husband was shocked that it helped the grass so fast. It didn't even take that long for us to notice the difference and just watch it grow. It looks super healthy now and no more patches in our yard. I am happy with this product i believe it took a little over a week for us to see the results.
