Have used this product and had no luck. Watered daily as recommended. Some came up and some didn't. What did didn't survive especially in the shaded area. Wouldn't recommend useing this product. Even used what was left on a small area and still nothing. Wasted my money

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts EZ Seed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. Depending on conditions and the seed type, the grass can take from 6 to 14 days to start to germinate. Germination requires air temperatures consistently above 65 degrees F. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Cold weather will delay germination but will not hurt the seed. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times per day until established, then we recommend watering about 1-2x per week as needed. If a weed control is used around the time of seeding, it will either prevent the seeds from germination outright or destroy the seedlings as they emerge. Make sure the ground is still visible when EZ Seed has been applied. If the seed was applied too thickly, the seed on the bottom will still germinate; gently water the area for 2 minutes to allow the water to reach the seeds. Extreme heat of over 90 degrees F or frosts will kill off seedlings. Seedlings may also die of a lawn disease called damping off. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

I thought this container had seed in it. After weeks of watering nothing. I looked through the container and I saw nothing that looks like grass seed. I know it is a very small seed but I didn't see any.

It did nothing to my lawn even with daily watering. The guarantee from Scott’s was a pain, too—they seemed to be primed to deny any requests. I had to send multiple photos and videos and argue before they agreed. Hopefully I’ll get a refund check in the mail but even that is supposed to take a month or more

Full of Quack Grass (a weed), Don't Use!!

Used to fill in bare spots, in my 4 month old lawn. It grew quickly, but it's nothing but Quack grass (a weed). My lawn is on scheduled lawn maintenance and I have little to no feeds for over 10 years, but everywhere I used your product has Quack grass. My lawn maintenance said I need to kill lawn and start over. Horrible product!! Many of your reviews comment on how quickly they get crab grass (a weed) so you definitely have a problem. Don't Buy!!!

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Ezseed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. It is normal to have some weeds germinate when seeding. There are approximately 10,000 weed seeds per 1 cubic foot of native soil. Soil preparation brings weed seeds to the surface. All Scotts seed is thoroughly cleaned and is 99.9% weed seed free, in fact The Scotts Advantage states weeds are removed from our crops by filtering Scotts seed 3 times. Soil amendments such as manure and straw often contain weed seeds as well. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. New grass is growing well after just 2 weeks! I just sprinkled some Miracle Gro Soil, then applied the EZ Seed. Watered morning and whenever the soil looked like it was ready (light brown). I'm very happy with this Product!

I bought this a month ago, lightly tilled the area to be seeded, and watered religiously everyday. Had very low to no germination. Waste of time, waste of money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this product multiple times with not so great results. It needs to be kept very moist at all times for the germination and that is difficult at times. There also does not appear to be a high quantity of seed in the mix as I always add to the mix before spreading.

I’ve used Scott’s products for years and hadn’t had any issues until now. I used and plastic jug of the EZ seed and it mostly grew weeds, very disappointed with this. I’ve attached pics of the small area I had to seed and you’ll see many different weeds and not a lot of grass and good looking turf.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts EZ Seed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. Make sure the ground is still visible when EZ Seed has been applied and saturate with water until no more water is being absorbed and mulch turns dark brown. A deep and thorough initial watering is the key to success. When EZ Seed begins to turn light brown, it's time to water again. Continue to water daily as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. This seed germinates best when daytime temperatures are between 60 and 80 degrees F. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. It seemed simple to apply and Scott has a great reputation for their projects to perform well. I was not disappointed. This product did as it was advertised. Easy to apply in the bare spots, water and it didn’t take long to start growing. It was formulated to work well, fill in with good quality grass. It worked!! I’m happy with the results.

Excellent Product. Sprouts Fast and Blends Quickly

Great results. Sprouts appeared from around 6 to 10 days. After three weeks, the patched areas are blending in nicely. One extra step I learned is to cover the EZ Seed with a thin layer of topsoil if heavy rain is in the forecast. Not doing so can sometimes result in the grass seed being exposed. When it has happened in the past, those areas didn't sprout. Since I began using topsoil as a top layer if heavy rain was in the forecast, I have had no problem with deterioration of EZ Seed applications. I wouldn't think of using any other product for repairing bare spots my lawn.

I bought this product to patch the bare spots in my lawn. I raked the spots prior to putting the seed down. I then covered the spots with burlap and watered it twice a day. To date after 10 days. Not a bit of growth. I can’t recommend this product and very disappointed. Looks like I need to search for another brand that will actually grow grass.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts EZ Seed Tall Fescue nd appreciate your feedback. You should start seeing germination in 6-14 days under ideal growing conditions. Will take about a month for all the seed to germinate. We recommend mowing the grass short and rake or de-thatch the area for remove dead grass and loosen exposed soil prior to applying. This Grass Seed will germinate best when temperatures are consistently in the 65-80-degree F range. Weed control used prior to seeding will prevent seed from germinating. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers.
