Needed grass seed in September

This was the ONLY grass seed available online, to be delivered to my area, and the local Target had NONE at all. So I took a chance, but the area I covered with it is sunny and this grass "blend" did not grow. For context, I live in PA and the temps are in the 70's-80's lately. According to directions it should have? Also, there is not alot of grass seed in container, half is filled with mulch and fertilizer (filler). not worth the price.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts EZ Seed Patch & Repair Sun And Shade and appreciate your feedback. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. For best results, we recommend watering 1-2 times per day to keep the seeds moist, until they germinate. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

Grows well, fills in dead spots on lawn. The added compost holds water on the seeds for better germination.

This was the second time in as many warm seasons that I decided to try EZ Seed Patch and Repair. Thinking that I might have gotten a bad container the first time I tried again this year. Followed the directions to the T watering 3 and 4 times a day. NOTHING - NOTHING. Absolutely NO evidence of the "mulch expanding 4X to cover the seed. These patches were scraped and then filled with topsoil with a growing medium before adding this product. Again NOTHING!

There are so many mixed reviews on this product, but for me it has worked absolutely amazingly. It has been 10 days and it's looking great! By day like 6-7, I could already see my little grass popping up! I didn't do a huge open space, I used this for dead spots. DO NOT over water the area. Just keep it moist throughout the day. DO NOT over use the product. Sprinkle enough to see the product after you've watered and moistened it (you'll be able to see a certain shade of brown). If you need more in some spots, then sprinkle some more. I actually added more product as the days went on in areas I noticed it needed more. ANYWAY, I LOVE THIS!

This worked amazing for me. We had an empty space with HARD dirt. I wet the dirt, turned it up with a hand tiller, spread the seed and watered every day. I would definitely recommend.

Glad I didn't read the reviews first because this stuff worked great for me. The summer causes us to have a lot of bald spots in our yard. Within a week of laying this out I saw cute sprouts popping up. I'd get so excited the more I found. Now those sections of my lawn are way greener than the rest. I'm going to by some more for the rest of my lawn!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product received in October. Not a good time in Minnesota to lay grass seed down. Stored product inside of house and used it the spring (April for the spring showers) and did the job wonderfully! Not sure if seeds get old but they looked fine and worked miracles on patchy bare spots in the yard!

I bought a container in early spring and tried it on a few dead spots. Never grew. I kept it moist and nothing happened. Tried a few weeks later. Still nothing at all. Few weeks later tried some again. Grass never grew at all not even a little. Fortunately only bought the one container. I have never bought seed that did not work at all.

I have purchased a few dozen bags throughout my time of being a home owner and never had a problem until now. The day after putting down the grass seed, my entire lawn started to turn brown and die. We had 2 companies who specifically told us it was, in fact, the grass seed that killed it. Now we are out hundreds of dollars and needing another fix for our now destroyed lawn.
