Good way to keep the seed moist / sprout in AZ heat. Better for bigger dead patches

I put this product on my lawn a week ago yesterday. Watered it every day, and now have new grass coming up. So far it has done as advertised.

I had a tree removed last year and I overseeded this year where it used to be. Overseeding worked except for a couple of difficult spots. So I got EZ patch for these spots in early October. 2 weeks later the spots are gone and it is filling in nicely! Thanks Scott's!

EZ Seed worked great, with minimal watering

Scott’s EZ Seed worked great for us.! 2 years ago we tried straight grass seed, and used it with peat moss, but it didn’t work very well. Then last year (early October) we used EZ Seed in our bare patches. Because of cooler temperatures, we watered it only infrequently – maybe every 3-4 days – and it began to sprout after just a few days. These new areas were healthy grass going into the winter, and looked great in the spring, too. We’re impressed and happy. EZ Seed is sort of expensive, but it’s easy to use and works well.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Ezseed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. For best results, this product should be applied when daytime temperatures are consistently in the 65℉ range for cool season grasses and in the 85℉ range for warm season grasses: the warmer the soil, the faster the germination. Cool or fluctuating nighttime temperatures will slow germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times per day to keep the seeds moist until they germinate and then 1" to 1-1/2" per week as needed. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit germination. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

Have used this product and had no luck. Watered daily as recommended. Some came up and some didn't. What did didn't survive especially in the shaded area. Wouldn't recommend useing this product. Even used what was left on a small area and still nothing. Wasted my money

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts EZ Seed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. Depending on conditions and the seed type, the grass can take from 6 to 14 days to start to germinate. Germination requires air temperatures consistently above 65 degrees F. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Cold weather will delay germination but will not hurt the seed. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times per day until established, then we recommend watering about 1-2x per week as needed. If a weed control is used around the time of seeding, it will either prevent the seeds from germination outright or destroy the seedlings as they emerge. Make sure the ground is still visible when EZ Seed has been applied. If the seed was applied too thickly, the seed on the bottom will still germinate; gently water the area for 2 minutes to allow the water to reach the seeds. Extreme heat of over 90 degrees F or frosts will kill off seedlings. Seedlings may also die of a lawn disease called damping off. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

I thought this container had seed in it. After weeks of watering nothing. I looked through the container and I saw nothing that looks like grass seed. I know it is a very small seed but I didn't see any.

Full of Quack Grass (a weed), Don't Use!!

Used to fill in bare spots, in my 4 month old lawn. It grew quickly, but it's nothing but Quack grass (a weed). My lawn is on scheduled lawn maintenance and I have little to no feeds for over 10 years, but everywhere I used your product has Quack grass. My lawn maintenance said I need to kill lawn and start over. Horrible product!! Many of your reviews comment on how quickly they get crab grass (a weed) so you definitely have a problem. Don't Buy!!!

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Ezseed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. It is normal to have some weeds germinate when seeding. There are approximately 10,000 weed seeds per 1 cubic foot of native soil. Soil preparation brings weed seeds to the surface. All Scotts seed is thoroughly cleaned and is 99.9% weed seed free, in fact The Scotts Advantage states weeds are removed from our crops by filtering Scotts seed 3 times. Soil amendments such as manure and straw often contain weed seeds as well. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

New grass is growing well after just 2 weeks! I just sprinkled some Miracle Gro Soil, then applied the EZ Seed. Watered morning and whenever the soil looked like it was ready (light brown). I'm very happy with this Product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this product multiple times with not so great results. It needs to be kept very moist at all times for the germination and that is difficult at times. There also does not appear to be a high quantity of seed in the mix as I always add to the mix before spreading.

Jug of weeds

I’ve used Scott’s products for years and hadn’t had any issues until now. I used and plastic jug of the EZ seed and it mostly grew weeds, very disappointed with this. I’ve attached pics of the small area I had to seed and you’ll see many different weeds and not a lot of grass and good looking turf.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts EZ Seed Tall Fescue and appreciate your feedback. Make sure the ground is still visible when EZ Seed has been applied and saturate with water until no more water is being absorbed and mulch turns dark brown. A deep and thorough initial watering is the key to success. When EZ Seed begins to turn light brown, it's time to water again. Continue to water daily as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. This seed germinates best when daytime temperatures are between 60 and 80 degrees F. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had several bare spots in my lawn that needed filling in. I was anxious to use this product. It seemed simple to apply and Scott has a great reputation for their projects to perform well. I was not disappointed. This product did as it was advertised. Easy to apply in the bare spots, water and it didn’t take long to start growing. It was formulated to work well, fill in with good quality grass. It worked!! I’m happy with the results.

Excellent Product. Sprouts Fast and Blends Quickly

Great results. Sprouts appeared from around 6 to 10 days. After three weeks, the patched areas are blending in nicely. One extra step I learned is to cover the EZ Seed with a thin layer of topsoil if heavy rain is in the forecast. Not doing so can sometimes result in the grass seed being exposed. When it has happened in the past, those areas didn't sprout. Since I began using topsoil as a top layer if heavy rain was in the forecast, I have had no problem with deterioration of EZ Seed applications. I wouldn't think of using any other product for repairing bare spots my lawn.
