Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

    Not Worth $15

    My son put a hole in the knee of the Cat & Jack jeans the first time he wore them. He was rough housing with his friends but to me that is bad quality! I was buying Cat & Jack jeans for my 2 sons because of their return policy that you can return them if they get a hole in them within a year of purchase. My store no longer follows that policy so I am done with these jeans unless I find them much cheaper second hand. They are not worth spending $15 on if they might get a hole in them on their first wear!

    Different colors have different thickness!!

    I’ve just realised that different colours have different texture/ thickness! Last year I bought my kid this jeans in ( Light blue) it hold up very well, has medium thickness. Now i got him medium wash) colour, fabric is thin and has a different description! not sure how much gonna hold up.
