Kichler Lighting Bowen 2 - Light Wall Light in Architectural Bronze

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the Bowen 2 light to replace the ugly spotlight that illuminated the garage doors and driveway. As usual for Kichler the light is well packaged and well constructed. The installation was to 1/2" double lap vinyl siding. To accomodate the siding I used the largest siding mount kit I could find, Arlington 8141DBL. Even this extra large size mounting plate did not accomodate the large backing plate of the Bowen fixture. Extra caulk is required to seal the gaps at the top of the fixture to prevent water infiltration to the back of the fixture. Installation onto a flat surface would have been trivial. Once the mounting plate and fixture strap were attached mounting the light was easy. However the screws and nuts that secure the fixture to the strap are too thin and allow the fixture to easily twist. Tightening the nuts to prevent the fixture from twisting deforms the bronze finish on the back of the fixture. Once installed and caulked into place 75W equivalent warm light LED bulbs were installed. Be sure to install the bulbs before installing the glass lens. With the 75W LEDs the light dispersion side to side is good. Away from the fixture is OK. After all it is not a floodlight. The fixture provides a nice amount of ambiance lighting to the area. The ability to add a dusk to dawn sensor to the fixture would have been a nice. The Bowen is located within sight distance to two Ripley fixtures. so similar finishes was a must have. The Ripley fixtures have been exposed to the elements for over three years and the finish still looks good. Overall the quality and pricing of the fixture are what I have come to expect from Kichler. The 4 of 5 stars is for the installation issues.

It is bright enough to light up our seating area. This lighting fixture was super easy to install! I definitely recommend this light fixture for all outdoor patios!
