Hunter Fan 60" Downtown Damp Rated Ceiling Fan and Wall Control Matte White

I was surprised my fan came with a wired remote instead of a handheld one in the box as that’s what the picture looked like to me. I didn’t really see this prominently on the product page when I bought it either and was frustrated that I would now have to spend time wiring another thing with no guarantee it could even fit in my already crowded switch box. The installation guide for the remote wasn’t detailed enough and I assumed I could wire in the remote without having to put in the two triple A batteries. Nope! The wall remote only functions when it’s wired and has its batteries installed. What a pain. Now I have to turn the breaker off, remove the wall plate, then remove the two screws holding the remote in place to change the batteries. Who knows how long the batteries even last. Having to change them every six months to a year is a nuisance. Don’t make my same mistake. I also set the fan to the highest setting and it didn’t feel very powerful. I originally intended it to ward off mosquitoes on my patio but I doubt this is strong enough, even on its highest setting, to keep them from flying near me. It feels more like a gentle breeze than a powerful fan.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This beautiful Hunter 60 inch Downtown indoor/ outdoor fan puts out a ton of air. The airflow on high speed is 8045 cubic feet per minute. It is damp rated for covered outdoor areas. I am using this in my garage. I have higher ceilings in my garage and this fan alone helps push the hot air out and really circulate the air. Which is perfect since part of my garage is also my workout area. They motor is very very quiet, much better than the loud fan I was using before and very modern and stylish. The wall mount control are very nice easy to use and you are able to get a remote for it. This is the perfect fan if you need air circulating and don’t need a light attached to your fan. The fan and the fan blades are heavier and are really made with quality and feel like they are made to last

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a beautiful industrial, modern looking fan!! We put it in our covered patio since it's damp-rated. The 60-inch fan fits perfectly out there. But great thing about it is that you can use it inside the home too! It works great, fast airflow. It cools very quickly and quietly. It's labeled Energy Star and has wall control. 6 speeds. Unfortunately we weren't able to take a picture of it because my husband didn't secure the fan properly to our DIY covered patio and it fell. The great thing is that it was perfectly fine! It didn't dent or scuff thankfully! It's very durable!!

Installation process was easy to follow. The air circulation is excellent! Energy efficiency is great. Noise level is zero. Super happy.

It’s quiet! It is POWERFUL! Assembly wasn’t tough either. I wish it came with a light, but not a big deal at all!

It not only helps keep the air circulating but brings a classy look to a once dull space. Installation was simple as there was already electric in the space. The remote is a great feature and the there is very little noise from the fan.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Downtown Outdoor Energy Fan is quality built for residential use. Install is a 2 person job as long as you have wired and mounting points. We replaced a cheap fan that was in our house when we bought it. Upgrading to this new fan took less than 30 minutes. We now have a much better fan as far as air flow, and it is much more aesthetically pleasing. It is very quiet.

Its installed somewhat centered in a 24x32 garage with a 13' high vaulted ceiling. Its on a 18" drop extender. Hunter's data called for the bigger model hung lower but my situation precluded that. It works well. Would bigger be better?, yeah, but this one is sufficient. I noted in reviews I read dome complaints regarding the controller having a battery that requires the contollers being removed from the wall to change. Yeah, the battery's there. The controller is essentially a remote you cannot lose and its gotta have a battery. Unless you are mortified by whatever may be lurking behind that controller its no biggie.

Bought three fans for Private Vehicle Storage Garage. Love the variable speed and reversing functions. Just installed, but already more comfortable in a 71’ X 33’ warm, humid garage that is too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter despite overhead radiant heater. Our hope is to capture wasted ceiling heat and recirculate it with the fans, lowering our gas heating bill. If the concept works, I’ll get my money back in a year or two. Hopeful.

Note: This fan has a built-in wireless receiver that is integrated into the motor (you don't have to wire it separately). The "remote" is a wired wall control that also requires batteries. The wired connection controls the on/off function, while the other buttons serve as a wireless remote (for speed/direction). If you want a real handheld remote, you can purchase it separately (per Hunter: get the one with up/down arrows, as it will support more than three speeds and this fan has 6).
