I got it on sale but even at that it’s not worth it. Very cheap looking.

I love Target's Halloween decor and have generally found great items for my holidat decor that look great, such as the metal cauldrons. This was very disappointing and cheap looking. Returned immediatey.

Very cheaply made and disappointing.

Man this is grim. I really think Target needs to stop making blow molds and rethink it. 70% of their blow molds are just grim. This honestly feels like a dollar store decoration, the gray planter thing fell out upon arrival- and honestly when it’s in- you can see this weird tube shape through the web opening and the lights are not warm, in fact they are bare bulbs practically hanging out of the web part. The shape of the boots is really cool and I kind of feel like doing a DIY to “fix this,” but for $12, I feel like it should be so much better quality and have less of a need for that. Targets really gone downhill in many ways this year.

Ordered this to be shipped to my home and when it arrived, it wasn’t even black, the plastic was like a grayish color and the quality was very poor. The space to put your plant or flowers is awfully small as well.

Worst Halloween Item I’ve bought to date at Target

The first thing I want to mention is the overall look and detail of the boot. From the online images, it was hard to tell just how defined the front design was, especially the area that is meant to resemble laces. I assumed this might be a case where the photos did not do the texture justice and that it would look better in person. However, when it arrived, I found the detailing just as underwhelming in real life. The front design lacks depth and clarity, which makes it look flat and somewhat unfinished. The molded lace design does not stand out visually and feels like an afterthought rather than a focal point. The one feature I did enjoy was the lighting effect. The boot lights up from within, which causes the cut-out patterns to glow beautifully. This is definitely the strongest part of the piece. It gives it a cozy, eerie glow that could look great on a porch or shelf when the lights are low. I also like that it has a timer option for turning the light on and off automatically, which is a convenient touch. Inside the boot is a built-in insert meant to serve as a planter space. I thought this was a clever addition until I realized that you can clearly see the grey planter insert through the cut-out shapes when the boot is lit up. For me, this takes away from the clean visual of the glowing design and makes it feel more cluttered. The insert cannot be removed, which is something to consider if you are planning on using this strictly as a decorative light piece without placing anything inside. Another issue that caused some frustration was the accuracy of the product description and photos on Target’s website. The product images show a smooth back side, but in reality, the battery pack is located on the back of the boot, which is not shown in the photos. While not a deal breaker for everyone, it is something that should be accurately represented online. Overall, while I love the idea of a spooky lit-up witch boot and appreciate the glow-through effect along with the timer feature, the lack of detail, misleading product description, and visible grey planter insert through the design all added up to a return for me. I think this could be a fun piece for the right person, especially if you plan to use it as a planter and do not mind the visual of the insert showing through the cut-outs. But if you are hoping for a fully finished, high-impact Halloween décor item that works great right out of the box, you might want to see this one in store before committing.
