Not too bad
I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable about home audio gear as I am a 70s kid I've seen technology advance. That said I can tell you that the cassette decks from the 80s and early 90s were terrific because they had Dolby noise reduction and when you recorded with that in the on position it gave you super high-quality cassettes that came close to CD quality. That said, for some strange reason the factories no longer have the parts to make these high-quality cassette decks weather for home audio or portable audio so they made these new decks with not so great parts and with no Dolby NR because it is no longer licensed. However this does have a noise reduction button but doesn't work as well as the old ones. As for recording quality I like the way the tapes come out with high biased tapes or type two cassettes. Normal type one cassettes also sound decent. I suggest if you have a home audio equalizer you use that between your source audio to give the recording some more power be careful not to go too high in your recording level. I would say this is a four out of five stars so it's gonna give you some good sounding cassette recordings not great like the older units from the early 90s. Until manufacturers give us high-quality cassette recorders with high-quality heads and high-quality record heads, this is gonna have to serve.

Received the deck for my birthday. It was easy to set up and within minutes I was listening to many tapes I hadn't heard in years. They sound great, in fact one tape is over 45 years old. The deck appears well made, operates smoothly, and all buttons have a solid, locked-in feel. I am very happy with the gift and the 3 year warrantly is a nice bonus.
