Q: I have removed the front top piece from the device. The hard-wired piece that is screwed into the wall is beeping every 60 seconds. How do I stop this beeping ???

  • A: Did you change the 9v back up battery in the unit? Even if you disconnected the unit from the hard wire, it still has a back up battery. If the battery is low, it will beep.

Different Model Number

I received 2 detectors manufactured by First Alert, but they were not the model numbers I ordered, but they fit and I used them because I needed 2 new detectors.

Seems to work well! BUT, I needed to change the wiring to make it work with the new replace detector. The old detector only lasted 8 and not 10 years.
