Town & Country Play 5'x7' Niko Checkmate Kids' Area Rug Red: Skid-Resistant, Machine Washable, Low Pile, Indoor Use

I originally LOVED this rug! it looked so beautiful in my classroom! But after first semester it started to look dingy, so I decided to wash it (as it says, washable). I followed the washing instructions, per the tag, and it came out like this! The backing came unattached from the rug, and it is bunched up and rolling up in all the corners. I've let it hang dry and lie flat, and neither have made it look any better. Super bummed 😥

Believe the people when they say it was delivered dirty. I thought it was a risk I was willing to take for $55, but it’s definitely dirty in spots. The color and feel is great for a playroom.

Vibrant colors and thin like I wanted, yet still very soft. However it arrived dirty in numerous spots, even where it was rolled up. The thought of rolling it back up and taking it all the way back to target and reordering made my head spin so I just used some carpet cleaner as best I could. It’s clear someone else had the rug before me and they rolled it back up

Super soft, spills don’t leak through the rug to the floor and the rug is easy to wipe and clean.

I have ordered this rug twice. Once the delivery damaged the rug and it was stained from the truck with black smears I couldn’t get out. I thought there were additional stains but they are actually on the second rug too. So weird! The second delivery also had the packaging ripped with stains, however I realized that the rug doesn’t have consistent colors throughout intentionally?!? One half is beige yellow and the other half is more white in both deliveries. The “stains” were actually on both rugs and looked like purple fading/discoloring that just draws your eye on two beige squares. So odd! I’ve given up at this point.

Ordered the first time, came stained. Returned, sent a new one and even worse damage.

My kids immediately wanted to be on it and touch the smooth texture. I like that the bottom has a gripping texture to keep it from sliding around on the floor or bunching up to trip my kids. We have hardwood floors which were uncomfortable for him to sit and kneel on when playing with his toys. This is the softest rug ever! My son now spends plenty of time playing on the floor. The pattern is super cute and in my opinion is gender neutral. If you need a little cushioning (or decoration) for your play area then I would recommend this brand. I can tell that this rug will last a very long time!
