Dry out hair and change curl pattern

This oil is so drying to hair . It made my sons silky hair hard, dry and rough. It even changed his curl pattern and made it kinky instead of silky wavy. It doesn't even feel like oil it feels very liquid like water. The only thing is it smells good. I don't even use it anymore and I'm left with a big bottle of product that I won't use.
