I reluctantly find its worth the extra dollar to not become bloated well before the expiration date.
I don't love the additional dollar, and yet we have a problem in my region of this size carton of milk being bloated. it's at multiple stores and it's the least apparent if at Target. I historically try to buy milk once a month at Max, it is true. I used to buy gallons but it's a little rough on my wrist, even though it's a better value, and I don't know that you really need to drink it within 7 days after opening versus it's at its peak. but being a good size for my usage and my wrist problem, I'm a fan. it probably better supports the low wage milking industry, and by not getting bloated before I've gotten to drinking it, saves me money or hassle cuz I don't always have the energy to go return something to the store cuz it showed signs of spoiling (gaining volume) 3 weeks before the expiration date.
