Q: Can anyone else near me hear what I'm listening to a podcast, a phone call, a video or music?

submitted by Her is me - 6 days ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Oakley | Meta HSTN Glasses with Meta AI, Audio, Photo, Video Compatibility. The short answer is: Yes, if they are standing close to you, they will likely hear a "whisper" or faint tinny sound. While the Oakley | Meta HSTN glasses use sophisticated directional speakers designed to point the sound directly into your ear canals, they are not silent. They don’t sit inside your ears like AirPods, so there is naturally some "sound leakage." If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: Can these glasses translate languages?

submitted by B - 4 months ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Oakley | Meta HSTN Glasses with Meta AI, Audio, Photo, Video Compatibility. Yes, the Oakley Meta HSTN glasses can translate languages. Because they share the same Meta AI software as the Ray-Ban Meta series, they have two distinct ways to help you with translation: 1. Real-Time Voice Translation (Live Translation) The glasses can listen to someone speaking a different language and provide a real-time audio translation directly into your ears. How it works: You activate it by saying, "Hey Meta, start live translation." Supported Languages: Currently, it primarily supports translation between English, Spanish, French, and Italian. The Experience: There is a slight 1-2 second delay while the AI processes the speech. The translated text also appears in the Meta View app on your phone so you can show it to the person you are talking to. 2. Visual Text Translation ("Look and Tell") Since these glasses have a built-in 12MP camera, they can "see" and translate written text like menus, street signs, or documents. How it works: You look at the text and say, "Hey Meta, look and translate this into English" (or your preferred language). Capabilities: It can identify foreign text and read the translation out loud to you. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: Can this take a selfie photo and/or video showing full body and background as shown in the ads say while you’re engaged in a sport activities without clicking a button I assume and just calling on the Ai?

submitted by Mary - 5 months ago
  • A: Hi, thank you for reaching out about Oakley | Meta HSTN Glasses with Meta AI, Audio, Photo, Video Compatibility. No, Oakley | Meta HSTN glasses cannot capture full-body selfies or videos of yourself and the background while you are wearing them. The built-in camera is a first-person, or "point-of-view" (POV) camera, so it only records what is in front of you. To take a selfie, you must take the glasses off and aim the camera at yourself. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: Can these glasses also be used as a hearing aid?

submitted by Paul1021 - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Oakley | Meta HSTN Glasses with Meta AI, Audio, Photo, Video Compatibility No, Oakley Meta HSTN glasses cannot be used as a hearing aid because they do not provide the necessary amplification or FDA-regulated features for moderate to severe hearing loss. While they are designed to be discreet with open-ear speakers that allow in natural sound, this design limits their ability to amplify sound sufficiently without causing distortion or feedback. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Really fast transition to dark lenses

These are great transition lens's glasses. I didn’t realize how fast they change going from inside to outside but it’s fairly seamless. The glasses were ready to go right out of the box and I was astounded how “in my ear” the sound was. Easy to charge the case and then the glasses just charge up when you put them away. I would probably want to go with an opaque frame instead of a clear one because I’m not as into seeing all the electronics. They fit well and were comfortable.

Great Meta glasses!

These new Oakley version Meta glasses are amazing. The camera, video and speaker quality is great. I like the different frame style. They fit well and I have no issues with any of the features. Compared to the Ray Ban Meta glasses I think it’s all about preference in regards to frame style.

What I didnt know I needed!

These sunglasses have been an awesome addition to my outdoor walking/running routine. They are super easy to set up with the app and to learn to use. They are comfortable, and so convenient to play music and connect to my phone hands free. The sound adjusts louder automatically higher/lower to the wind on a windy day, which is awesome. Taking photos and videos and uploading them to stories/friends is easily done. They come with a nice case that they charge in. So far, the charge has lasted a long time, I haven’t had to plug them in but one time over many days. The AI assistant to help answer questions and identify things is such a plus! Excited to fully explore everything that I can do.

The best AI glasses

I had the opportunity to test several different meta glasses, and so far, I like the Oakley Meta HSTN glasses the best. These glasses are not as heavy as some other brands on the market, and they fit me perfectly. I absolutely love the transition feature. They can be worn inside and outside, and you don’t have to worry about taking them off. They change the tint pretty fast, which is a big plus. I wore my Oakley Meta HSTN glasses on my recent trip to Peru and enjoyed using them for photos and videos. The quality is amazing, and in my opinion, it is even better than pictures taken with my phone camera. I enjoy having AI at my fingertips, especially on my trips. The glasses charge pretty fast(about 30 min for 0-60%) and hold their charge for about 5–7 hours. One thing to note is that the charger case doesn’t come with a charging cable, which was surprising for me. It uses a simple USB-C port, so it is easy to find one around. Overall, I like these glasses a lot and will continue wearing them.

Excellent Smart Glasses

These are fantastic AI glasses. They are stylish, fit well and are easy to use. They take clear photos and videos with excellent sound. The glasses fit tightly on your face, so you don’t have to worry about them falling off. They are a great option for when you need an extra set of eyes.

Good smart glasses

Overall, I like but don't love these glasses. Pros: easy to setup and use, good microphone, and speakers. Cons: I don't love the look of them (but maybe you do, and that's great!), and I am not super trustful of Meta as a company. The camera isn't the greatest, but it is really nice to be able to have a camera on your face that can easily take pictures and videos while moving around.

Great Tech, Parasitic Relationship

These glasses are a technological triumph — which makes it deeply irritating that they come from one of the most aggressively untrustworthy corners of modern tech. Let’s start with what hurts to admit: the hardware is outstanding. The open-ear audio is legitimately impressive. Full, clear, and surprisingly immersive without sealing off your awareness of the world. You can walk, work, exist like a human being — not someone cocooned inside noise-canceling isolation chambers. It feels thoughtful. Advanced. Mature. And the video capture? Ridiculous. Tap once and you’re documenting your life from your literal point of view. The footage is sharp, stable, and effortlessly cool — the kind of feature that makes you realize phones already feel a generation behind. This is the sci-fi version of memory-keeping we were promised. They also look good. Actually good. Not “for a gadget.” Just good sunglasses. Now unfortunately… we need to talk about the parasite attached to this otherwise beautiful organism. Because buying these means inviting Meta — yes, that Meta — a few millimeters from your eyeballs. Nothing says “late-stage capitalism” quite like voluntarily wearing a camera designed by a company whose entire business model revolves around harvesting human behavior and converting it into ad revenue. It’s hard not to picture Mark Zuckerberg somewhere, quietly moisturized, absorbing another microscopic data point about your daily existence. Do I trust that relationship? Not even a little. There is something inherently unsettling about a corporation with a long résumé of privacy controversies now producing face-mounted recording devices and casually selling them as lifestyle accessories. The optics alone are almost performance art. And yet. Here’s the uncomfortable reality: the people building the hardware absolutely nailed it. The engineers showed up. The designers showed up. The product works — beautifully. Which creates the modern consumer’s favorite ethical dilemma: incredible tool… questionable empire. So let’s be clear — purchasing these is not an endorsement of tech oligarchs, surveillance culture, or whatever rebrand Meta rolls out next year to make us forget the last one. It’s simply acknowledging that sometimes the best gadgets are made by companies you wouldn’t trust to water your plants. Final verdict: Phenomenal audio. Stunning point-of-view video. Stylish, wearable design. Morally annoying origin story. Buy them if you want cutting-edge wearable tech. Just don’t confuse that with admiration for the billionaire hovering behind the curtain.

Impressive!

The Oakley Meta HSTN glasses have proven to be ultra impressive. The design is super sleek. The lenses do have a mirrored, reflective finish. The Meta voice is crisp, clear, and loud. On a run, I don't have to worry about losing my stride to ask questions or control my music. I found the most impressive feature to be the quality of the video recording. They do fit on the snug side to help ensure they don't slip off while out being active. Overall, it's a solid pair of sunglasses and I've enjoyed using them.

High-End Feel but Smart Features Could be Improved

I was fortunate to be able to test and review the new Oakley Meta Smart Glasses in Black. They're stylish, glossy, and though I initially thought them to be too flashy looking, they're actually quite fashionable and not outlandish. I usually wear Wayfarer or Aviator type sunglasses but Oakley's Meta HTSN don't look too bad on my face type. The fit of these glasses are decent even for people with flatter nose bridges and wider heads. They're of course a little heavier than the typical sunglasses, so they still tend to slip a bit when in movement. The lens are polarized but the lens transitioning is not what I expected and does not transition dark enough to block out brighter sunlight. It also takes quite some time for these lenses to transition. The lens are also easily scratched despite using a clean lens cloth, so I'm kind of skeptical of the long term condition of these sunglass lenses after several months of consistent usage. Set-up and pairing of the glasses to the Meta AI app is straightforward. Connecting to the phone is easy enough. Voice commands are a bit inconsistent but does well enough when asking simple questions or using simple commands. Everything is voice based and I wish the touchpad has more functionality for more manual controls. The touchpad sensitivity for volume control on the right handle is decent but become affected by sweaty fingers and hair strands that fall over it. The battery life drains quite quickly when it's recording or being actively used as speakers. My glasses battery went down from 100% to 80% in a mere 15 minutes while using these specific features. Battery life seems to be acceptable when the glasses are not using these battery-draining features. Camera and video quality is great with 3K resolution. Live capture is solid with a convenient button on the top right side handle. The video recording limit only goes up to a maximum of 5 minutes unfortunately. Importing of photos and videos takes a while and depends on your Wi-Fi connection but is acceptable. In terms of advanced my smart features available, I think Meta still has a long way to go. This is where things fall short for me. The Meta AI app is clunky and battery-draining on the phone and more often than not, the AI answers my questions incorrectly or doesn't decipher me correctly. When it comes to available Live Translation languages, only a few languages are supported. There is no support of any Asian languages at all, and even the text translations on the app are wonky and subpar when compared to using G**gle Translate or B*ng Translate. I'm also not a fan of the genAI photo features that are heavily promoted on the app and find no real use for them. All in all, the Meta sunglasses work well as sunglasses that can take photos and record video, but the Smart features are lacking for something so pricey. I'm not a fan of the Meta AI app where you have to provide access to all your personal info and data in order to connect the glasses. True, they're still polarized designer Oakley's with a unique and fashionable look, but I'm a bit disappointed of the limits of the Meta features included and the lack of privacy. The functionality is not as streamlined as I hoped and there are a lot of bugs and features that don't seem to live up to expectations. I hope more live translation language packs get added and improved upon on in the future.

Trendy Gadget

Meta glasses are all the rage now. These were fairly easy to set up and uses the Meta AI app. The controls take a little to learn, but ultimately are pretty easy to snap a photo or ask a question. I found the fit good - the sunglasses fit snug on my head and despite the weight of the glasses, they stay on and don't feel like they are falling off. The glasses case functions as the charger, and easily charges in case. I found the glasses a touch bulky, but that is expected now with so much tech in them.

Awesome but not cute

I love how easy it is to take a picture or video, just press a button or say Hey Meta. This is wonderful when you are in the moment and not continuous like a Go Pro. The picture/video quality is amazing. Having voice controlled ability to ask questions is so convenient. I like hands free calling without separate earbuds. The only downfalls are they are no aesthetically pleasing and despite being secure, I didn't find them comfortable. But worth that to have all the features available while doing all our favorite activities.

Genuinely Fun

We’ve been loving the Oakley | Meta HSTN glasses, especially as a busy family with kids. They make it incredibly easy to capture real momentslike bike rides, hikes, and backyard chaos without pulling out your phone. The hands-free photo and video feature is perfect when your hands are full, and the open-ear audio lets you listen to music or take calls while still staying present (and hearing your kids). Meta AI is fun and surprisingly helpful for quick questions on the go. They’re comfortable, durable, and feel made for active days. Not perfect, but a genuinely fun and practical upgrade for family life.

Sleek transition Meta glasses

These Oakley Meta glasses are sleek. I love how they transition from clear inside to sunglasses outside which allows me to wear them both indoors and outdoors. It was a bit daunting trying to set these up but that is not an Oakley problem it is more of a Meta problem. The glasses themselves fit well. I wear them while running and they do not slip off of my face. Overall would purchase again but only gave it four stars because of the initial set up process.

Fun gadget but overall questionable value

I spent a few days reviewing the Oakley meta smart glasses and I'm going to run through my favorite pros and cons. Pros: these glasses fit my head very snugly and we're comfortable to wear and they never dug into the back of my ears so that's great especially if you're planning to do some Athletics and you want to make sure they stay on your head. The overall camera quality for taking pictures and video I felt was pretty good. Just a hair below my action camera and this way you don't have to carry an extra device if you don't want to. Plus you can do this by pushing a button to take a picture or long pressing for a video. I think they look pretty good overall but I would expect that from the brand. One of the best features is the speaker quality and the call quality their exceptional and you can absolutely take calls and talk hands-free with the highest quality experience I've ever had. Cons Although I like the style in general if I was comparing the price to what you get in terms of style they do look a little bit fake or a little bit plastic like they were made by a cheaper manufacturer. I'm not saying they're bad but I don't think they're worth the price range for what you're getting. The value of the camera overall is also lacking considering the quality of camera you could get for the price. The battery life of 8 hours or carrying a charging case with you everywhere you go isn't exactly a choice I want to think about all the time when I'm on the go. I think it's great that the charging case has a battery in it but I don't want to have to take multiple things with me when I'm on the go. Doubling the battery life would also be a great consideration considering the price tag. I think it's great that there's a privacy function that blinks while you're recording video however if I'm out on a hike or on a bike ride I don't want to be seen like I'm glowing, I don't want to draw extra attention to myself is what I'm trying to say. I get that you don't want people going on spy missions with them but maybe there's an in between where when you're in broad daylight you don't have to blink while recording video I'm not sure what the answer is here. I wish there were more options to connect a micro USB device to the glasses directly to transfer videos and I wish there were more options for the length and quality of video you could record. Overall I think if you got the money then this could be a really fun gadget and toy to play around with but if this is a big investment for you or a large chunk of money I think it's best spent on other entertainment devices like you could be well on your way to a video game console and some games or a smart camera with the latest software in it for stabilization which would be better than what you get in these glasses. So I leave it at a four stars because my experience was mostly positive but I do imagine that in a few years the technology that will be inside these glasses from all the investment these companies are making will be far superior to these but that may be the case of any piece of electronics.

Outstanding product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been wearing the Oakley Meta glasses for a bit now, and I honestly didn’t expect to like them this much. The first thing I noticed was how solid and premium they feel—very Oakley. They don’t feel gimmicky or fragile at all, which was my biggest concern going into smart glasses. Fit-wise, they’re comfortable and well-balanced. Even with the tech built in, they don’t feel heavy on my face, and I can wear them for hours without pressure on my nose or ears. They still look like regular Oakleys, which I love—nothing about them screams “tech gadget.” The audio quality surprised me the most. The speakers are clear, loud enough for outdoor use, and I can still hear what’s going on around me. It’s perfect for calls, music, or quick voice commands without blocking out the world. The camera is super convenient for quick photos or short videos. I like that I can capture moments hands-free without pulling out my phone—it feels natural and instant. The image quality is solid for social content and everyday memories. Battery life has been reliable for daily use. I can get through the day with casual photos, audio, and interactions without stressing about charging, which is exactly what I want from wearable tech. Overall, these feel less like “smart glasses” and more like normal Oakleys with smart upgrades. Stylish, functional, and actually useful—not just a novelty. If you’re into tech but still care about looks and comfort, these are a really good balance of both.

Hi sunilee_861, Thank you for the five-star review! We worked closely with Oakley to develop a pair of glasses that could keep up with our users' adventures, sophisticated yet solid. Stylish but comfortable, we know our users want to improve their tech while feeling like it is out of the way. The speakers let you be part of the conversation while staying on top of notifications or discreetly listening to a message. The camera is always ready to capture those important moments and amazing experiences that you want the world to see, and that no one would believe if you hadn't caught them on film! We wanted to give our users more than just a piece of tech; we wanted them to have the tools to share their world whenever and wherever they want. Thanks for this amazing review. We hope you continue to enjoy your new pair of Oakley Meta glasses and all the features they have to offer!

Better than I imagined

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Oakley Meta Glasses for about a month now, and they have been surprisingly helpful, convenient, and practical for a myriad of different reasons. Being completely honest, my favorite feature has been the ability to stream my Spotify playlists at the office through the Bluetooth connection. The speakers are close to your ear which allows the wearer to listen at decently loud levels, and nobody else around can hear unless they literally put their head right next to the frames. I love this feature because I can still listen to my music in an office environment that frowns upon wearing headphones. I also use the glasses for making and receiving phone calls, and again, the sound quality is fantastic, and everyone I’ve talked to can’t tell a difference between the clarity of my voice through the glasses versus my iPhone. Lastly, the camera quality isn’t bad if you’re trying to snap a photo hands free. However, if quality was a consideration for the photo, or video for that matter, I’d still opt to use my iPhone or DSLR. I’m sure the camera technology will only improve on future iterations of the glasses.

Hey there! We’re so glad to hear the Oakley Meta glasses are making your office days better! It’s awesome that you can stay in the groove with your Spotify playlists while remaining present in the workplace. We also appreciate the honest feedback regarding the camera we’re always looking for ways to bridge that gap between convenience and pro-level quality. In the meantime, enjoy that hands-free freedom!
