Q: put these outside today to charge up, but the on/off button isn't a switch to slide to on or off, It's just a button you press so how do I know if they're actually turned on to receive charge or not?

These were purchased to use for my the anniversary of my son's passing. They don't even work. I tried everything because the on/off is a button & not a switch so you never know if you're turning it on or off so they can charge by the sun. So I tried for 2 days & nothing makes them work. To say I;m disappointed & also angry because they were for my son's memorial, is an understatement
