Q: Would a regular full size mattress fit? Or does it specifically have to be a full xl?

Wobbly, missing screw and painful ladder.

we tried to like this bed, and liked the concept but it's terrible! The ladder has round bars, which makes it painful to climb on. Not only that, but we didn't receive all the hardware (2 screws missing), and not sure if that's why but the bed was wobbly. I tried to reach out to the manufacturer, but never received an answer. I would not recommend this bed at all.

instructions suck,good quality frame though

the instructions are horribly unclear.we received some misnumbered pieces as well. the instructions are unclear as the steps make you build each bunk separately only to completely unscrew and semi rebuild each part when attaching the codes to finish making it into the bunk bed. jt was extremely time consuming and unintuitive thus way however the bed did end up stable and nice for the price
