Enjoy Gel Pie? You've found it!

Marie should turn the pie box into a "where's the apples" game. For goodness sake, 9 apple slices came in this pie the rest was filled with some sort of gel. The pie itself was only about an inch thick, with 3/4 of it being topping or crust. I'm so glad I forced myself to bake it the night before I needed it, otherwise I would have had a lot of explaining to do. After tossing it in the compost bin, I ran out and bought a real apple pie. I spent more time on this than if I had made one myself. Never again.

    Found The Apples

I was actually trying to look up how to crisp up the topping, it said add to top of pie and bake for 10 additional minutes. However, I had to bake this pie differently than directions described from the start. My pie started out slightly thawed before I was set to bake it & I had to bake tmy pie at 350 degrees, instead of 400 degrees. Because, the rest of my Easter Dinner entrays were also cooking at the time. I made due, I baked my Dutch Apple Pie for approximately 45-50 minutes total and an additional 10 with the topping- however the topping wasn't as it should be- it was loose & had a sandy texture- So I turned my oven back on - this time to 400 degrees & I baked it in additional 2 minute intervals - several times- As I read aloud some of these reviews to my family & friends - as we waited for my Easter Dutch Apple Pie to finish baking. Then approximately 25 total minutes later my pie was done. Until baked to perfection - golden brown. The worst part of this pie- was waiting for it to cool just enough to cut and serve. While my family, friends and I ate this delicious warm Dutch Apple pie with vanilla ice cream - We spoke more about the amount of reviews that mentioned the lack of apples and the abundance of the gel (filling) they had in the pies that they had purchased- Although strange, I know; I actually personally prefer more of the fruit filling than the actual fruit. And I even joked with my family that- We most definitely found all of the apples that these other folks had been missing from their pies, not to make light of their complaint - But We must have found their missing apples, from the amount of apples slices I had pulled out of my piece & everyone else that ate our pie were happy with the amount of apples in their slices of no matter how big or small of their piece of pie. My daughter commented on her happiness as was the winner of the apples- that I pulled out of my pie- even though she was satisfied with all the slices of apples she had in her own piece. To add, I even went out to the garage to look at the pie box I had thrown out to verify it was a Marie Calander Dutch Apple Pie that I had read all these complaints about, and it was indeed the same kind. As a general manager myself in the food industry, I do understand that there will always be unsatisfied guests/customers. Although, we strive for excellence and would love to make everyone happy, it's just unrealistic- But when the majority prefers your products, your brand, your company, etc - Obviously y'all are doing something very right!!! As a matter of fact, after I tried your pie, way back when, for the 1st time; rather than buying your competitors pie- I have personally never went back to your competitors products!! I have stuck with Marie Calander products from then on... Thank you for listening, and please keep doing what y'all are doing!!! actual fruit in pies

    Terrible pie and baking instructions

Burned after 50 of the recommended 60 to 65 minutes of baking at 400 degrees. And then it had to bake an additional 10 min with the topping! Terrible instructions. Wasted the pie and my time!!!

Marie Callender has gone cheap on their pies.

I haven't eaten one of these pies for a while. My girlfriend decided to get me one a week ago as a treat. What a disappointment. When we took it out of the box we both looked at it and said how little it was. After it was done cooking, we had a piece of it. How disappointed we were. The picture on the box shows all these pieces of apple to be in the pie. Nope. Hardly any. Almost all jelly. Talk about you cutting corners to save money. The price we paid didn't reflect the cost cutting measures. People are not stupid. We do see what companies do to cut costs and save money. The crust was also not like it was in the past. That was also cheapened up. What a shame. Bad job Marie Callender. You won't see me buying any of these any time soon.

Great alternative to homemade pie with tender apples, flaky crust and a crumb topping. Peel off the plastic and bake in the oven and you have, a warm delicious pie.

My favorite Marie Callendar pie. Yummy!

My favorite frozen pie from Marie Callendars! Its spices and flavors are perfectly blended. The crumbly topping tarts so good, the crust tastes so buttery, and the filling is proportionate. This pie is big enough to provide at least 8 slices and once baked, you can bring it anywhere and have it for any occasion.

An easy, freezer-to-oven pie that tastes close to

This pie has a great apple flavor with just the right amount of sweetness and cinnamon. The apples stay firm, and the Dutch crumble topping bakes up buttery and slightly crisp. The crust is good, though the bottom can be a bit soft if underbaked.
