Best OG Seeds
Look I play baseball and chess. I think that these David seeds are perfect. Smackin is like no salty burn, but they lie because my freinds say they have salty burn and have no flavor but david i think makes the best og seeds. David dont even have salty burn. now that conagra bought bigs, I would like to say to get rid of bigs og because they cannot compete with the official seeds of basebal aka david og. i am currently eating these rn righting this review. To summarize: Get these if you wwant OG Salted seeds.

Check the expiration dates
David brand is my go to sunflower seeds. However, I have also had problems with stale and rancid bags and finally realized that it has to do with the expiration date. I usually buy without checking expiration dates but the last two bags bought that were stale and rancid had expiration dates within the next two months. I think buyers just keep bags until they sell. I would like to order a few bags with the expiration date at least 1 year from today ( 2/12/26). Then I will know they are fresh. can you put the expiration dates in a more prominent place on the package? Like next to the calorie count, and in larger fonts. I think this would solve the problems.

Some of the best seeds on the market.
I've been eating David's Jumbo seeds for well over a decade, and I got to say they are the most consistently flavorful and large seeds. I've tried multiple brands but always come back. 9.5/10 would definitely recommend.

Old Seeds
Old and stale seeds with awfully bad taste. Almost 20% are bad. Shame on ConAgra for not having a better quality team. Packaging date is still good but the sunflower jumbo seeds are awful.

The majority of small bags now a days, any flavor or type, taste stale, bad! For some reason, the 1 lb bags are usually good though! That and high price now, don't deserve high rating anymore...

Bags are faulty
Seeds are good, but the 2 stars are for a problem with the bags. Lately the 16 Oz. bags have poor or completely defective zip locks on them. They either peel off the side of the bags when you try to reopen them, or they're unattached to one side as soon as you tear the top portion off. The last 3 bags I've bought have had this problem. It's really inconvenient to have a large bag of seeds that you can't close. I hope Quality Control can look into their packaging and get this fixed.

Don't recommend
Bought a bag of these today from local store. Had to throw them out because just about every other one had a "roasted" bug inside it. NASTY The quality is extremely poor. Will never buy again.

Stale taste as of late
Lately all the bags I’m getting taste stale. Bought in different stores. They all have tasted like when you leave a bag open too long and it’s stale.

Poor Quality
I really love this product and have been eating David’s Sunflower seeds for a very long time but recently it’s seems like the quality of your product has dropped tremendously. I buy 2-3 packs of seeds weekly and recently the seeds have been tasting old and stale. I’m not sure how you plan to fix this but I hope that you can do something better to preserve the freshness of the seeds because I really love this product and have been buying these for over 25 years.

Dull, dusty disgusting after taste, stale
3rd case that taste like they’ve been sitting in a dusty corner. Bought less than a month ago. Will be switching to another brand.

Disappointed!
I have been so terribly disappointed with David's "Jumbo" Sunflower seeds over the past many months. The seeds are very small and far too many of them taste rancid! Oftentimes the entire bag is stale also even though it is within sell by date.

Disappointed
I grew up on David sunflower seeds & it was ALWAYS DELICIOUSLY GOOD, crunchy and fresh. However a few years ago, I started buying the “BIGS” brand because every David’s seeds I bought (From different stores) always was either stale or 50% of the seeds were rotten. What really bought this review on for me today is, my convenient store near me had run out of Bigs brand & only had David. So because I’m a sunflower seeds I eater, I had to have something & David was the only one available. Again.. I’m just disappointed!! Not sure what part of the preparations or ingredients that has changed, but you need to bring back the 90’s DAVIDS!!
