For Dave, this marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life. Though he grew up in a family of bakers, his life took a different path. A path that landed him in prison for 15 years. Determined to prove his worth and make a positive impact, Dave worked tirelessly to bake breads that tasted unlike anything else on the market — packed with seeds and grains, made with only the very best organic and Non-GMO Project Verified ingredients. Dave’s Killer Bread® believes everyone is capable of greatness. One in three of the company's employee partners at their Milwaukie, OR bakery has a criminal background—but your past doesn't define your future. Did not raise my blood sugars!

Delicious bagel! I was given DKB Plain Awesome Bagels as a gift. Silly I know...but what an Awesome gift. I wear a continuous glucose monitor (for information only, not a diabetic) and I fully expected my BG to shoot up sky high, becuase this is what bread does. Nope. I have been eating 1/2 a bagel with peanut butter, with a side of eggs and there is NO blood glucose spike. Maybe a natural increase of less than 10 points. Very impressed with the ingredients, fiber, whole grains, and protein in the bagels. And they taste great, they have the great bagel texture you want, all the things. Great job DKB and Flowers Foods! Great product!

I really like Dave’s plain Bagels Amd bread, but that is where it stops. The other bagels have minimal flavor. The cinnamon and raisin bagel should be called Plain bagel with some cinnamon Amd raisins.

Dave’s killer bread is a little more expensive than some other brands. But DKB’s bagels are think and dense, unlike others that are airy. Also I support how he helps people.
Tell me why this has 25% of the sugar of a can of soda?

Was a no fam of these for years but composition has changed compared to last purchase. They’ve added more sugar, sodium but decrease the protein. Adding cream cheese just takes it over the top with how sweet they taste now. Will have to find a better/healthier alternative.

Eat a bagel for breakfast every morning. These bagels have gotten smaller and are now smaller than the competing brands. I liked these more but will now be shopping the competitors regardless of price

Take the sugar out

This is more of a pastry/dessert bagel. It has added sugars, and quite a lot! Will be searching for another brand that has no added sugar/0g of sugar. I prefer normal bagels. It does feel predatory that a company would put such an addictive substance into it, even into a product in which sweetness is not wanted nor needed. To market this as healthy is wrong. Food for thought.

Found something inside of 4 year old son’s bagel

We have purchased these bagels multiple times and the quality has been awesome but, this morning my 4 year old son’s was eating his bagel when he asked me what something was. See attached photo, this string like thing was in my son’s bagel. 1. I don’t know what this even is. 2. He could have easily choked. Needless to say we will not be purchasing these bagels anymore and would advise others to do the same.

7g of added sugar negates any health benefits

these used to have 2g of added sugar from apples only years ago. still NO need for added sugar at all in a BAGEL, but at leastv it was just 2g. now about a year ago it jumped up to 5g of added cane sugar. Now it's at 7g of added cane sugar. why . just take the sugar out so it's actual "health" bread. also way too sweet, a sugar addict might enjoy it but as someone who doesn't eat added sugars this tastes like dessert which is gross when I want a bagel. could be an amazing product and would draw many more health focused individuals in if there was 0g of added sugars.

Buyer beware: So, I was spelunking through the depths of our kitchen cabinets yesterday and stumbled upon a Dave's Killer Bread bagel. Now, these bad boys are supposed to be the holy grail of organic, top-tier bagels. But get this—this thing was looking fresher than a daisy in springtime! Soft as a pillow, no mold in sight, and here's the kicker: we haven't even bagel-shopped in like, forever (okay, maybe just 4-5 months). I mean, seriously, what kind of cosmic sorcery is this? Are we talking some secret blend of supernatural preservatives here? Is it made from unicorn tears and everlasting freshness? Because last I checked, even my forgotten gym socks have a shorter shelf life. So, moral of the story: next time you're reaching for that "organic Killer Bread" label, maybe give it a second thought. That bagel might outlast your houseplants and your New Year's resolutions combined.

I'm allergic to soy, and as a vegetarian, I also need all the protein I can get. So when I found Dave's Killer bagels a few years ago, I starting eating one almost every day (plain or raisin). Of course, they aren't real bagels (I grew up on L.I. so I know how a real bagel looks and tastes and how its supposed to be made) but they were the best option for me and my food issues. The last year and a 1/2 or so, except for the wrapper, they no longer look the same, have the same texture, are always crushed and lumpy looking, not smooth, and don't toast up the way the old recipe did, and they taste like paste. And as other reviewers noted, they are smaller but cost more. Unless the company returns to the original recipe, and whatever machinery needed to bake them properly, I am taking my business elsewhere. That is, if I can find a bagel that doesn't contain any soy products and has a high protein ands fiber content.. Wish me luck.

I have a plain bagel and a berry bagel at least once and sometimes twice a day and have been doing so for sometime. It used to be hit and miss on whether you got burned bagels in the package. Now it’s a constant. You can still eat them, but they are not as enjoyable as they have been in the past. How can I purchase bagels that look like the picture on this website without very overcooked/burned bottoms? Can you fix this? More training for employees? New equipment? Please help!

I only recently noticed this brand on store shelves. Im not sure if it’s new to stores or if I’m just so used to getting the regular National brands that I’m accustomed to. Whatever the reason, these are by far my new favorite and I cannot wait to try all of there products. GREAT CAUSE and AMAZING TASTE/QUALITY! Seriously…i’ve never had anything to say about a plain bagel! Just try it, you’ll understand!
BAGELS SUCK

Used to like the bagels. Since they were bought out by another company the quality totally sucks. They aren't properly sliced so you can't separate halves without using a bread knife. They appear to be smaller and harder than the originals. Dave should have never sold out.
