Easy reads.
This book is so good once you read part of the first section. This book is divided into four stories, and it's an easy read. I will be reading the other books.

Poignant but slow beginning
The story was true to cultural character boundaries and became more and more poignant and nuanced as the book continued. The beginning is pretty slow and repetitive, so fair warning in case you think you’ve fallen asleep and have read the same line over and over.

A touch of magical realism
In a small, tucked-away café in Tokyo, a cup of coffee becomes more than a comforting ritual—it becomes a key to time travel. But there’s a catch: you can only revisit the past, and nothing you do can change the present. Kawaguchi’s *Before the Coffee Gets Cold* serves as a delicate, bittersweet meditation on love, regret, and the fleeting nature of time itself. The book reads like a gentle conversation—intimate, thoughtful, and steeped in nostalgia. The characters, each yearning for closure or understanding, felt deeply relatable. Kawaguchi's writing reminds us of the quiet moments that often go unnoticed yet shape the very fabric of our lives. And while the rules of time travel seem limiting, it’s the emotional landscapes of the characters that push the story forward, evoking profound reflection. If you’re someone who enjoys a slow-burn narrative with a touch of magical realism, this novel will make you ponder your own "what if" moments. It may not offer grand resolutions, but it tenderly reminds us that sometimes, the best we can do is appreciate the now—before the coffee gets cold.

Book Arrival Review
I received the book in a flawed state. The book arrived with the book cover crinkled and messed up. I wouldn’t recommend ordering a book from Target.
