Mildew mold odor
the mantle arrived with a pungent mildew mold odor. I have tried many recommended methods to remove the smell but did not work. cleaned with bleach, murphy oil soap, viniger and water, baking soda, mildew outdoor funiture cleaner.... nothing works. How do you get rid of that smell?

I would Recommend Mantels Direct to anyone.
It was well protected in the packing material, arrived in a timely matter and in good condition. It looks very nice and I will be very glad once it is installed on my fireplace, just waiting for my brother to be free to help me.

the mantel is exactly as expected, it was especially helpful to be able to receive a sample of the color to be sure it would work with my decor, the sample and ultimately the mantel were shipped quickly and well packed, I found the company to be very helpful with any questions I had.

Fair price and fast installation
we like our new mantle . The color dark brown is beautiful. The wood grain looks a little mass produced but it's fine. we liked being able to install without corbels for a more modern look. We installed into our brick fireplace with ease!

Going to be used without corbels. Will mount on fireplace build out. It will be stained to match custom made cases on either side and above granite fireplace front. Great quality and arrived early. Great company to work with would highly recommend.
