I have purchased several Oxford bookshelves and they are attractive and sturdy. Assembly can be a little tricky if you don't look at the diagrams carefully. But I am disappointed that they cheaped out on this one. It's clear from the assembly instructions that it used to have the same attractive thicker top with fluted edges, but now it's just a regular shelf. It's definitely not as nice and it doesn't match the others I bought.

I like the shelf until I got to the part to attach the top shelf. The screws to attach the top shelf are not long enough. They have to be the wrong. Screws. I wanted to contact target to send me the correct hardware and they want me to take the whole shelf apart and return it when I only want the correct screws.

This was a beast to assemble, but beautiful upon completion. They don't clarify that in some instances you absolutely have to make sure that you have the cam bolts lined up in the correct direction and if you don't the screw won't fit. Once you get into the pattern though it is not hard just time consuming. I did also end up bolting it to the wall so it wouldn't tip on the carpet in the room. Despite the work it took to assemble, it is quite pretty for the price once it is completed.

The directions for assembly were tough to decipher. The material that it's made of is soft and dents easily. The screw holes drilled for the cam bolts were too small and it split the wood some because of it. The white stickers that they supplied to cover the screw holes are see through and make it look cheap.

I ordered 2 of these, and they came in with no problems. Yes, they take some time to assemble, but it was fairly straight-forward if you’re familiar with this type furniture. They’re incredibly sturdy and look great in my son’s room!

Perfect for my bathroom. I have no shelves/upper cabinets or storage in my bathroom. This was perfect! It was not easy to put together...not impossible, but not easy. Once assembled it was worth it. Will probably buy in another color for my bedroom.

Overall the item is nice, but the first delivery was damaged and the second one was also damaged. Thankfully we were able to piece the two ones we ordered to make one complete bookshelf. We used this for a playroom and can hold a decent amount of games.
