Sorry Clarins! I have always been a dedicated user of Clarins products but I just had to write this review. This used to be my favorite cleanser/exfoliator. It WAS a superb product. I used to recommend it to others often and they all liked it too! With this recent purchase, I thought that I bought the wrong product but then I realized that the formulation had changed almost completely! It doesn’t exfoliate the same, smells awful like plastic and it doesn’t make my skin look fresh like the other formulation did. It also seems to take a long time to rinse off and unfortunately for me, it immediately causes big itchy bumps/welts on my skin.. If I had to guess, I would say that a new botanical was introduced to the formula that I must be sensitive to. SO very sad.. I’ll keep an eye out.. maybe some day the formula will change again and I will be reunited :)

The formula and texture of the one step gentle exfoliating cleanser has massively changed and it’s now nowhere near as good! I’ve used the product for many years and absolutely loved it, it was my favourite cleanser by far! I used to love the rich orange colour and scent, and the more course grainy texture really helped to keep my skin beautifully radiant. Now this cleanser has sadly lost its lovely scent and colour and the exfoliating beads are too soft to make any difference to my skin. What a shame to ruin such an amazing product! Bring back the old formula - it worked wonders!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like how lightweight this product is. I think it did an okay job. The scent was a bit strong but fresh at the time. Orange extract is such a good natural ingredient so I like that aspect of the product too. It’s only 3 out of 5 because I was using it in the winter and it wasn’t course enough for my dry winter skin but could be good for warmer months.

The Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Facial Cleanser is just made for my fragile 70-plus year-old face. It has a mild clean scent, and is a gel-like formulation with tiny, tiny granular bits to help the exfoliating process. Rinses easily - just don't use more than about a nickel-size amount. Clarins products' ingredients are clean, safe, and nurturing for facial and all other body skin.

Although the formulary has changed on the one step, I still give it a 5 star despite it not being as grainy as before. There was a creaminess to the original one step that really exfoliated gently. This change is lighter and does not give you the scrub clean feeling that I was accustom to after rinsing. However, this formula is very gentle on the skins and cleanses equally as well.

I have used this product for 25 years and it has paid off. I recently had MOHS surgery to remove a spot on my upper lip. The surgeon couldn't believe I was 75! (most people think I'm in my 60's. Make no mistake, if you are not using this product for "light" exfoliation, you should get started now! This product will work for all skin types and can be used daily!

I received this in my welcome gift box when I made my first order last month. I'm so glad it was in there! My skin has never looked or felt better! I have very sensitive skin and this gentle exfoliater is exactly that...gentle! I wash my face with this every day and have had no issues. The smell is amazing as it is with all the Clarins products I've tried so far. And I love that you can choose three samples with every order. I get to try more products to fall in love with. I'm definitely hooked on Clarins now!

This is my favorite face wash of all time. The exfoliating beads leave my skin feeling so refreshed and clean. It does not leave my face feeling super dry afterwards either, which I really love. Clarins products always have a great scent, and the one step exfoliating face wash is no exception. It smells lovely and invigorates the senses in the morning when you’re washing your face. I will continue to repurchase this each time I run out!
