Q: It’s sickening that you feed the hens soy and corn, BOO!

submitted by Shari - 24 days ago
  • A: Our hens enjoy a nutrient-rich diet packed with vitamins and minerals that does include corn and soy (plus what they snack on in the pasture!). Corn and soy ensure the hens get enough protein, while keeping farming financially sustainable for farmers and eggs affordable for you! Feed free of corn and soy is not only difficult to source but nearly doubles costs for farmers. Major increases like this make it harder for farmers support their families, and making sure farmers are paid fairly is something we will always stand by. More questions? Reach out to us directly at contact@happyegg.com

Q: Is the supplemental feed (corn and soy) organic?

submitted by Raq - 3 months ago
  • A: Organic Free Range eggs come from hens raised on certified organic farms, receiving organic feed while roaming on 8+ acres.

Q: Are these soy free and corn free ?

submitted by Jessica - 4 months ago
  • A: We think you are asking about our feed and not the eggs themselves. If so, both! Our Happy Hens eat our proprietary blend of whole grains, including both corn and soy, which they love! Soy is a great source of both protein and fat for our beloved birds’ nutrition.

Q: From supplementing with corn and soy... What is the percentage of Linoleic in your eggs?

Q: Are they Pasturized??

submitted by D - 4 months ago
  • A: No, our eggs aren’t pasteurized, but we do have a process where the eggs are heated (not up to 100 degrees Celsius as pasteurization requires) and held at a minimum required temperature for a specified time to destroy bacteria. Prepared egg products do require pasteurization, but because Happy Egg only sells shelled eggs, it is not common practice for them to be pasteurized. If you have more questions regarding the pasteurization of eggs and egg practices, we recommend reviewing the USDA guidelines. https://www.fsis.usda.gov/food-safety/safe-food-handling-and-preparation/eggs/shell-eggs-farm-table#12

submitted by kermit - 10 months ago

Q: How long do these eggs stay fresh & edible refridgerated?

submitted by Texas Gma - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi! The expiration date should be on the right-hand side of the carton. If you are still not able to find it, we should mention eggs can be refrigerated for three to five weeks from the day they are first placed in the refrigerator, per the USDA. Store your Happy Eggs in your fridge at 40°F or lower to keep them fresh. If you still feel worried that the eggs may not be fresh, try the egg float test! Put your Happy Egg in a bowl of cold water. If the egg sinks to the bottom, it is still fresh!

Q: Is there any SOY in the feed or graze for the hens?

submitted by Angey - 2 years ago
  • A: We feed our hens a specially formulated diet of whole grains -- including corn and soy, mixed with vitamins and minerals, to provide the best nutrition for healthy hens and great eggs. Because the hens have the ability to go outdoors, their daily feed is supplemented by a range-foraged diet, including grass and bugs. The hen’s feed is free of added meat, bone meal or hormones. In addition, Happy Egg hens producing organic eggs are fed a 100% organic, non-GMO diet.

Q: Are these 100% pasture chickens?

submitted by RhondaS - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Rhonda, our hens are raised on small family farms and are given access to roam freely on over 8 acres of range (this equates to about 21.8 sq/ft per bird)!

    Deep amber egg yolk

By far the best tasting eggs I've had so far. Deep amber and creamy yolk Unfortunately 4 of the eggs in the carton were stuck and were not able to use them.

    I would buy this again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These tasted great. The only thing that was not ideal was having to find a store that carried them but now that I know where to get them, it's a little bit easier.

    Unpaid Opinion!

I never imagined I’d have a newfound love for eggs. I’ve always bought ‘organic-free range’ but i’m now questioning just how free those Chickies were.

    Have they changed something?

Recently bought ones doesn’t have thick egg shell & less orangish. Make me wonder what’s going on with the quality? I know the orangish color can be obtained mixing paprika in their food but I still liked this brand as the egg shell was thick means good quality.

    Darkest Yolks!

Delicious and truly the darkest yellow yolk I’ve seen. I used to go for the vital farms pasture raised eggs, but this time I got these as my backup and I was pleasantly surprised. These are now my favorite. And they are a little more affordable.

    Disappointment

I have been buying these eggs for years and they have always been amazing, last two years I noticed quality change, but the last 3 dozen, made me change forever. Hard boiled eggs when cracked, the yolk was like plastic, didn’t even break. Sad they sold out.

    Has Anything changed?

I have been buying happy eggs for over a year now and have come to love the deep orange yolks. The past two cartons I have gotten have both yielded just regular yellow egg yolks. Did you change anything in the feed?
1 reply from Happy Egg team - 3 months ago
Thank you for reaching out to us. We always expect some variability in yolk color because, just like humans, no two hens are exactly alike. Several natural factors such as seasonal changes, diet adjustments, or individual hen differences, can affect yolk color. Rest assured; our farming standards haven’t changed! The Happy Hens still enjoy a premium, nutrient-rich diet and daily access to outdoor pastures, where they play, peck, and forage. Please reach out to us directly at contact@happyegg.com. We'd love to make this right.
