Ben's Original Ready Rice Spanish Family Size - 17.3oz

I normally LOOOOOOOOOVE this rice but i just finished cooking it and it looked like this. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Can anyone tell me why?? Is it mold??? 😳 The expiration date isn't until March, though and i bought it today. 🤔

The portion size is small, which is fine for a snack or side, but it does take some trial and error to figure out how much water to add. Too much and it turns out soggy. It’s convenient and shelf-stable, which is a plus, but it also has a pretty long list of ingredients for something this simple. One thing to note is that it contains chicken broth, so it’s not suitable for vegetarians.

It tastes like someone has been babying it for hours. When in reality it takes only a few minutes. Easy prep, quick cleanup, and yummy! What more could a mom ask for?

I opened the bag two inches and microwaved it for two minutes. It still wouldn’t break easily. The package left minimal room to pick it up without burning my fingers. It didn’t smell too bad but there was a lack of flavor and the rice was very dry.
