Another Pyle Deal!
I purchased a pair of these Pyle PHQBS62 speakers with the 6. 5"" woofers for a discount as an Pyle return. They will be used with a Ayima A07 PRO mini amplifier. I am happy with their performance. These Pyle seem to be a better match with the A07 Pro compared to my vintage 8 ohm speakers. IMO, these speakers seem balanced enough and do not need a sub. I also considered the Sony sscs5 and the Polk xt20 but chose the Pyle's because of the price. I will use these out in the barn but they should also work fine in the living room. I will rate this experience as 5 Star. If something changes I will let you know.

Good sound
Very nice little speakers to replace the giant 70's speakers that I had. Yes, I still have my 70's stereo set up and it still works fine. They have very good sound and I'm happy with my purchase.

I am charmed
When I first got these speakers I kinda glossed over them and put them in storage. Then I brought them out again several months later. I always thought they looked good and the price was great, but what about the sound. Something happened to my listening education since I first listened to them. They seem to handled extra wattage well and are full, punchy and interesting to my ear. A good speaker makes me want to listen to more of my music to see what it sounds like on these speakers. Hearing some sounds for the first time and feeling that I enjoy the music more than I think I should for $50 per speakers. They look good, sound interesting and cost very little. I almost want to try the larger ones but feel like they would only be well, not these. I think these speakers have something that other speakers don't have, especially for the price.

Book shelf style speakers
Great sound for speakers this size--they have some weight and solid construction to them so no bass rattles . . . using them on my home theater amp instead of sound bar.

They are decent and look nice
These are not bad as long as the price stays under $150. They don't hurt my ears and nothing stands out as being ""bad"" or ""wrong"". Great for a second system or for a traditional retro classic looking stereo that is not used for critical listening. I wish they released a few more finishes such as dark English walnut and ebony maccassar wood veneer.

Better than much more expensive speakers, blown away!
First of all I want to say that I've been into high end stereo gear for many decades. I've designed and built my own speaker systems with high end components. Like most audiophiles, I'm always looking for something better. The problem is that there is no ""one"" fits all music ""perfect"" speaker. There are so many types of listening.

Less is less but not the worst
First off we should temper our expectations from a speaker at such a low price. Specially one with a rather large 6. 5in woofers. What I noticed after listening to these speakers is that they are quite bright with a peaky treble at ~7khz and ~10khz area creating a bit of ""buzz"" in the highs. The Bass is lacking unfortunately, i think you will be best getting a subwoofer if you want these. Trying to add more bass via EQ will make the mids sound muddy. These speakers need a lot of power so I don't recommend a tube amp. I'm glad Pyle didn't add fake bass boost like most budget speakers but I still expected more out of 6. 5in woofers.
