Slime's Pencil Tire Gauges are the ultimate solution to checking your tire pressure on the go! This pencil tire gauge measures from 10-50 psi and comes with 4 bonus valve caps! Available in a variety of color options: Black, blue, silver, orange, red, and green.
You can improve your gas mileage by around 3.3% by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure. Under-inflated tires can lower gas mileage by 0.4% for every 1 psi drop in pressure of all four tires. Properly inflated tires are safer and last longer.

Q: Will it work for bicycle tires? And must they have a particular type of valve, or will it work for all valve types?

A: For most mountain bikes, probably yes. This is for the classic "Schraeder" bicycle tire valve, not the Euro-style "Presta" valves on some road and hybrid tires. Also, road bike tires require 60+ psi, which is higher than the upper range of this gauge. Mountain tires have low (<50 psi) pressure requirements, so it should work for them.

Bad quality
I bought one and noticed that the readings were inconsistent by a lot. I returned it thinking it was just a bad one. I got another one of the same kind. The readings were also different every time I used it, so I never knew if I had too much or too little air. The 3rd time I used it, it exploded into pieces from the pressure in the tire.

Inferior product
Used in three times. On the third use, when I pushed onto tire valve stem, the tire pressure blew the end off the gauge and all interior parts came out. I only have 35# of air in the tire. I've NEVER had that happen with other brands. I'll never buy this brand again!
