A: Wash them on high heat— and dry them. They should become static free.

A: I can't give an expert reply but I'm wondering how these would magically know where the feathers should go, and how they'd move them so precisely. I'd advise doing it by hand, which is laborious, but far more likely to work since you are a lot smarter and stronger than these little balls!

Seems to be effective.
Like: these do seem to dry my clothes faster and remove static. I'm trying to avoid use of liquid detergents and dryer sheets. The balls are reusable and every so often I leave them in the sun to fully dry them. I add a lavender sachet for scent.

Worth the investment
Bought these because I heard they would do what fabric softener sheets were intended to do, without the harsh chemicals put into your laundry. So far, I’d say they do just that (minus fragrance). But I seem somewhere you can add essential oils to the balls to add fragrance if you wanted? I’d be afraid that would cause oils stains on my clothes, but that’s just me. Since I’ve been using these… I’ve notice great decrease in static cling and wrinkles in my clothing. It’s also helped to “balance out” my clothing when cycling through the drying cycle. So things don’t get stuck together as often, and come out even dried. I would highly recommend these if you’re looking for a cleaner alternative than dryer sheets, but still want all of the benefits of using them.

This product does not do work like it says. It does not reduce drying time. It does not reduce static cling, it increases it. All it does is make a ton of noise in your dryer and get stuck in your clothes. Please take this off your site utnil it is improved.

Lint and static nightmare
My daughter has eczema so I thought I would try these instead of unscented fabric softener. These dryer balls are awful. They leave white lint all over my black clothes, and I get zapped constantly when pulling clothes out of my dryer. They do nothing to reduce static or lint. My clothes still come out stiff. I would be better off not even using them. Huge waste of money.
