A: It's not too hot. But mine was really cloudy. The water was cloudy and not transparent like the photo. The lava is also a bit translucent.

Awesome, wanted something blue-ish
Been looking around for something blue, this is turquoise, name of lamp is Fiery Turquoise. Sometimes the pics on the box can be off, like the Prom Night, but what you see is what you get with this one! Looked at 2 in store and both bulbs were fine, not cloudy at all. One of the rarer colors, like peach or lilac, highly recommended!!!

Hot and not as great as we had it.
The glass gets super hot and so does the metal base that’s holding the lava lamp which makes it quite unsafe for children. The base is also not built well and doesn’t actually have a great grip on the glass. This would be an object best for up and away.

SUPER cute lava lamp. The first one I bought in-store was cloudy, so I exchanged it for one that was clear. It's OK to ask the store associate to check the package and make sure you aren't buying a cloudy one. two other styles I bought online were also clear which was a pleasant surprise based on the other reviews here. I think they get cloudy if they are shipped when it's hot outside. The wax melts and they get jostled around.

Very cloudy water and translucent lava
I was pretty disappointed with how cloudy the water is bit seeing how poorly shipped it was I'm not surprised it got shaken up a lot. The lava is also somewhat translucent so combined with the cloudy lava it's sort of a blurry mess.

Save Yourself The Grief - DON’T Buy!
Bought this with another lamp that I've just received... the word "disappointed" falls VERY short! This one is worse that the other lamp in every aspect... the water is EXTREMELY cloudy, the base and cap are such inferior material that one was dented and I had to push it back... which I did with just my bare hands, that's how soft it is. The worst thing for me is the wax... it's no where near as bright and lovely as in the picture, which is a massive misrepresentation. Worse than that is that this wax, no matter what I have tried, is FULL of bubbles! It literally looks like foam in person, almost like shaving foam! This lamp is atrocious.
