Q: what size should i get? my window is 31 half... would the 32 be to big?

A: Dear Wilma. The actual width of this 32" window shade is 31.5" to allow for inside mounting. Therefore it is possible that it could fit your window width depending on our how accurate your measurements were. I would say if your width is closer to 31.75" it would be safer since you need a little bit of space to install this product. It will be very tight if it is exactly 31.5".

Q: What is the depth of the bracket? I have 1 5/8" depth space for rolled up blackout shade.

A: Dear JudyLynn. The bracket depth required is 1 1/2". Therefore, 1 5/8", should be sufficient space.

Q: Dimensions don’t match these specs and questions! For 1pc Blackout Roller Shade with Slow Release 29W x 72L, mine measure: fabric 27 1/16, roller w/ caps 27 1/2, w/ pins 27 3/4, mounting bkts 28 5/8.

A: Dear Roddy. The packaging state that the actual width is 0.5" shorter to allow for inside mounting. Therefore 29W x 72L, is actually 28.5W x 72L. This include both the fabric and hardware as mentioned above.

Q: Can the blind fabric be trimmed by the purshaser to make it narrower? Can the purchaser adjust the roller to make it narrower? 48 inches is too wide , but 36 inches is too narrow. Thank you.

A: Dear Window2023. Sorry, this product at Target is only sold in fixed sizes and can not be trimmed.

Q: is the width for the actual blind itself, or for brackets that set further out? will a 32" be a full 32" width of blackout material?

A: Dear Targetcustomer. The actual shade width is 1/2" smaller to allow for inside mount. Therefore, a 32" will actually be 31.5" and this is the width of the window shade (not the fabric).

Don't purchase if you are expecting an old fashioned roller shade.
This was the junkiest purchase I've made in a long time. I know how roller shades are supposed to work. First of all the measurement is wrong. I knew I needed a 34" but out of the box it is almost 2" shorter than that so I used a 36" I had purchased for a different room. All plastic hardware except for the screws. Nice fabric for the shade but once installed it was wound so tight it didn't want to unroll. I used the crank one turn to lessen the tensioner. Then it wouldn't roll up. Used the crank to put tension back on it but it did not lock back and the whole thing fell to pieces. I know how to follow instructions. Absolutely horrible.

The box says that the shades are 34 inches but they are 32 inches. Be careful buying.

Broken item
I bought two of these online. Both came broken. I only needed one right away and that’s when I noticed it was broke. The other one I’m just now trying to putt up. Opened box and it’s broken also. But now I can’t return because it’s past time. My problem on not checking right away but it would be nice to order items not broken.

Careful with measurements
The material is great and really is black out but the measurements are horrible, we had to make two trips even though we measured our window correctly. The width of our window is 34” but it was too small we had to get a 36”, doesn’t make sense.

Great quality and easy install
Easy to install, provides a blackout result, nice slow release feature, and thick material. The only downside is that I ordered 6 of these and 1 of the packages was missing all of the hardware. Not thrilled about the hassle of a return and replacement but I do like the blinds.

Great quality & price
Love these blinds! I’ve been burned by “blackout” claims before but these REALLY darken the room - great for toddler naps! I got slightly larger than the window for an outside mount, eliminating the slivers of light on either side. Thick material looks nice & love the slow, steady release so there’s no quick snapping back as they roll up. Just make sure to read directions for installation as width measurements include hardware - shade is about half an inch smaller than listed width. Already got a second set for another room & I’m thinking of getting more for my room, too!
