The item has two setting, one sound activated setting that activate with both sound and lights for a short period. Poor battery performance
Replaced the batteries that came with it and the new batteries died after only a couple of weeks, with the light dimming even before that. Have it on the 6 hr a day timer. No reason multiple sets of batteries should be needed to get through the month of October.

These molds can use some work
Cons-The paint quality is horrendous. The blow molds were carelessly thrown in the box, with no packing paper or bubble wrap, so they just scraped against each other the entire time in transit. I will have to strip these and repaint them unfortunately. These need to be plug-in molds with a cord- there's no way to have them on a timer- eventually moisture will ruin the battery compartment. So I will need to modify these. Pros- the plastic quality is great and I love that it came with a stake that can easily be housed on the mold when not in use. The imagery of this collection is also cute and fun! These molds are not worth the $40 asking price unless you're a willing to put in the work to make them better.

Found a very nice one locally. Yes, it does have a timer.
This is one of the nicest blow-most Halloween decorations at Target this year (2025). I saw it a few weeks ago, but I thought $40 was too pricey. I found a very nice one at the local Target this weekend, and it was on sale for 30% off, so I grabbed one. It does come with 3 AA batteries instead of those little button batteries, so that is a plus, we'll see how long it lasts (It's still bright on the second night). There is a timer! (It's discussed in the directions). The "no sound" setting is the timer setting, it stays on for 8 hours and then shut off for 18 hours, then turns back on. I set mine to come on just after dark. I set it up inside on a table in front of a window. It's very bright and very noticible from outside. The sound settings are entertaining, but not what I really want in this type of decoration. The sensor isn't super sensitive - I have to snap my fingers loudly to get it to make the sound, but I'm sure little kids would get a kick out of yelling at the ghost to get it to say one it's spooky phrases. Pretty neat if you can get one locally.

Disappointing Props
This year's porch props are really delicate - much moreso than last year's. I bought several, including this ghost, and most of them arrived having been jostled in the box with huge scrapes and paint flaking off all over. Never had this issue with the pumpkins from last year. The designs and sound effects are cute, definitely, but I wouldn't buy these again, honestly; if they're the same style next year, I'm skipping over them.

Dead batteries, and not perfect but othwrwise ok
These seasonal blow molds seem to always come with scratches and or overpaint, there are never perfect, but mine wasn’t as damaged as some I saw reviews for. However, the ‘included batteries’ were already dead so it just came with an extra chore of getting rid of dead batteries.

What triggers light & sound?
Maybe mine is defective but doesn't make sense what the light & sound trigger is. Motion doesn't do it - so there is no motion detector. Loud noise doesn't trigger. The only thing that triggers the light &sound is tapping the object. So if you stake it in your yard it will only turn on when someone kicks it - NOT when someone walks by, and NOT when there is a sound. So you have to hit or kick it to make it go off? That's dumb. Unless mine is defective.

I think they did a great job with this blow mold! The overall quality is really good, including the paint job. I'm not a huge fan of the sounds, but those are probably great for others. I think the design is really a good and the lighting is espeically bright. Well worth the money.

It would be 5 stars but due to poor packaging it was damaged. There were scuff marks, which I could live with, but the ghost also has a squashed hand! And of course it’s sold out now, so I can’t try to replace it! Target really needs to get it together when it comes to shipping. The way they package things is hit or miss, sometimes they pack it well, other times it’s just thrown in a box.
