The look and end result looks good but there was a lot of cursing while putting them together! Whoever designed the holes for the back rest there is a special place in hell for you. Also the tip about taping the seat on while you assemble was very helpful

After reading other reviews I was concerned that these barstools would not be sturdy. However, after putting them together, they are very sturdy. Here are my thoughts: 1) You must tighten all screws properly (but the instructions warn not to overtighten the back support screws). 2) Most of the holes in the wood are not pre-drilled so you need to really make sure the screws go in all the way. 3) I read other reviews which said to make sure the seat dowels go all the way into the frame, also, to use blue tape to hold the seat in position while attaching. And to use a drill to attach the seat brackets. This is all good advice. 4) I would give this a 4.5 stars instead of 5 stars if that were an option because the seat is not cushioned very well at all. 5) Finally, I don't know what the pound rating is for the stool, but I don't think the proportions of the stool would work very well for larger people.

I love the style of these chairs and they are really comfortable for counter stools. They were relatively easy to put together- took about 1 hour for my husband and I to assemble. A good drill is a must to get the seats attached to the chair as there are no pre drilled holes for this part. I gave them 4 stars because the legs were scratched and some blue paint was on the back straight out of the box-see pics. Overall we love the chairs and we have toddlers, so we kept them bc they will inevitably get some damage along the way with kids, lol.
