Q: What's the approximate life of the solar panel?

A: The life of a solar kit can vary by a few factors such as the amount of time used (all year in hot climates or just used during summer in cold climates then stored for winter), water quality, and how often you clean the pump. The average life of a solar panel is between 5-10 years but we have had customers who have had their for as much as 15 or more years before needing to replace them. -SLHG

Q: What happens to pump when water level gets low?

A: Hi Ron, at the moment if the water gets low and the panel is still in direct sun then the pump will run dry. It is an internally brushless motor and will not burn out although it make a loud sound when running dry. We are currently working on the next version that will have a water sensor on the pump and stops running when dry. -SLHG

A: No, you do not need an electrical outlet. The solar panel in the middle of the bowl only requires direct sun (no clouds/trees/screens/windows) to run the pump. -SLHG

A: This item needs to be stored indoors (shed, garage, etc) during the winter if you have temps below freezing. If it incurs any issues from snow or ice it will not be covered under warranty. -SLHG

I love the looks of this birdbath! I did not put it in the garden yet, will wait until spring. We were working on the house, no time to work in garden. This spring will be time to put the bird bath out and plant lots of flowers.

I was thrilled to recieve the birdbath in 3 days!! However, as I unpacked it from the box, I realized why it was SO lightweight!! It was NOT the cement I wanted...but more of a clay! The "bowl" looked great, but when I tried to put it on the "stand", I noticed the clay on bottom center of bowl had crumbled. I was able to tape it, and attach it tothe base. However, the sturdiness was NOT what I thought it would be. I was very dissappointed, and put it back in the box, not even opening the "solar" box. and returned itto the local Target store, and got a full refund.

Sorry to hear that. The material as stated on Target's site is fiber reinforced concrete which gives it sturdiness without the weight of solid concrete which would make it difficult to move. We realize that you returned it but we just wanted to apologize if you received one with a defect and let you know that if had contacted us we would have replaced it for you under our 1-year warranty. -SLHG

I had previously reviewed the birdbath and after just a couple days, mine stopped working [which I had seen another person post]. I reached out to customer service via email and they gave me a few suggestions of things to try. One of them was to give the little white propeller inside the solar panel a little 'flick', to manually get it going again. It worked AND the unit has been working perfectly since then! Also, I remove the solar unit [lifts out easily] and clean the algae off every couple of weeks. I really love this piece and it looks great in my garden! Just thought this information might be helpful for others. P.S. I like the tall spout as it creates a bit louder fountain sound! Very relaxing...

Arrived on time. There were no missing parts & none broken. Easy to put together under 10 mins. Only take apart the smart solar when its time to clean the filter. Place the entire bath with the smart solar inside, add water & place it where the sun directly beams. The stronger the sun beams, the higher the water sprouts. To make my bath "pop" I decorated flowers around it. Now my smart solar acadia frog style birdbath looks very expensive. Not only the birds love it, the butterfiles love it too.

I've had this bird bath for nearly a month now & love it. Doesn't need much sunlight to activate, has a nice relaxing water flow & it's adorable. It has a relatively small footprint so over wintering in my garden shed won't be a problem. Have several of this companies products and am pleased with all.

This bird bath does not arrive as shown or as shown on Box when arrived. It does not lock together and the bottom round piece does not come with it. Very dissappointed! Can not be returned to store so they expect you to pay the return shipping. It would of been very desireable if bottom piece would of come to make complete.

I love my Acadia bird bath wuth solar fountain. The sound is so soothing and the birds love it! It is very easy to keep clean and maintain. My only issue is I wish it were a bit deeper so I would not have to fill it so often in the extremely hot weather. Otherwise, I am very pleased with the purchase. It is a lovely addition to my flower garden.

I bought this solar birdbath for a spot in my very sunny Southern Californian front yard. It was very easy to set up and started working immediately. It stopped working, however, anytime I stood in front of it or there was the slightest cloud cover. It then stopped working completely after 1 week in the yard. This product is too expensive to malfunction this early on.

I got this bird bath as a wedding gift. I absolutely love it! It looks more green in the picture than it actually is. The solar powered fountain works great! Can't wait for the birds to start coming around!
