Q: Do the horizontal rods swing out? The photo looks as though they have hinges on one side and a small latch on the other, but the product description says nothing about it.

A: They can swing out.
submitted byM - 1 year agoA: The Target answer is wrong. I have these, and the rods definitely DO swing out. That's the whole point of these hangers. It's terrible that Target gave the wrong answer.

I purchased a set of these and love them for saving closet space. However, I would only recommend for thinner fabrics like slacks, t-shirts, dresses, etc. Thicker fabrics result in large spaces between hangers.
