A: Spring loaded swivel or self-return swivel means you can swivel and it will stay in that position however, once you leave the stool it will return to the original position. It only turns 180 degrees not a complete 360 degrees.

The Dakota stool is very comfortable and goes well at my bar. The finish looks beautiful and for the price I would recommend this stool.
