A: Hi - these wall lamps have an on-off dimmer switch on backplate. You use the switch to turn them on or off, as well as to dim the bulbs to the desired light level. Thanks for the question!

Beautiful but something is not right.
Style is great. Nice classic timeless design. Mine are about three years old and one hinge has decided it isn't going to hold anymore. They haven't been adjusted since they were installed, so it's not from being moved around. The whole thing is hanging vertically now and no amount of trying to adjust has worked. My guess is there is a part in the hinge that gave up.

A good solution
I was please to add some light to a 1978 bedroom with no ceiling fixtures but had switched light sockets. It gave light to the guest room in time for the holidays.

They're nice looking and will work great in another space other than my bedroom. They're not flexible, so I wouldn't recommend for reading lights. They're stylish but I'm disappointed. Not sure I'll keep because I'd want guest to be comfy too. If you're looking for a simple down light, they're great.

Cute, but not worth it
As other reviewers mentioned, these seem almost too heavy for their arms to support. It’s day 1 and I’m only mildly convinced they’re going to stay in place. It’s odd that the shade is as heavy as it is. I also don’t love that there’s a buzzing sound when they’re on. I’ve tried multiple bulbs and some of them won’t even turn on with the dimmer, they just sort of flash on and off. I’m to the point where I’m nervous to use them. Feels like a fire hazard.

We hung these lamps above our bed and they look great! I would have given them a 5 but the arms are a little loose. They worked fine once we cranked them tight.

Love these lamps
I LOVE these lamps! They are expensive looking and solid, not some flimsy plastic things. Have one on each side of the bed. I also bought the metal cord covers and it really makes them look classy. They didn’t have black so I bought the brushed nickel and spray painted them matte black and they look great with the black and antique brass lamps. Goes well with my black iron 4 post bed.

Disappointed
The thumb screw that holds the lamp up gave out and the lamp crashed on my head. No way for me to fix it. How do I get a replacement?

Nice look
We loved these lamps fits well in our bedroom. The worth the price, rather filmsy... but if you don’t touch it will stay in place. The knobs got to match up it it will be crooked.

nice look but some problems with mounting hardware - should warn to ensure mounting bracket is placed totally level as just a small deviation isnt correctible and looks bad as lamp arms have absolutely NO movement laterally so will look obviously crooked. But do enjoy them a great deal now that they are up. also should list bulb specs on literature. only place the wattage is noted is on shade.

Poor quality
After just a week of being installed the hinge at the base doesn't stay upright and the lamp just falls limply. It was never adjusted or anything - just set up once. The hinge is not strong enough for the weight of the lamp, it seems.
