Q: I noticed there is not an on/off switch other than the pedal. How much room is there from the floor pedal to the lamp? Is there enough room to put the floor pedal on a night stand for instance.

Q: Is this lamp top-heavy at all? A problem with many lamps is that the bottom/base isn’t heavy enough, so they will easily tip over.

This is a nice quality lamp and the gold tone is beautiful. The base is nice and heavy. I would have given it five stars but the arm at the top is crooked and that is disappointing. Not worth the hassle of sending it back so I chose to bend the shade frame to make it look straight. Other than that I would recommend.

Good lamp, horrible packaging
Packaging couldn’t have been worse. Bad use of styrofoam, too much tape. The lamp itself looks good. But unpacking was more painful than it needed to be.

Pretty nice lamp except for cord location
This is a pretty nice lamp. Relatively heavy. Nice lampshade. It is shortish but that is not a surprise based on the specs. The realy issue is that the cord sticks out the same direction as the lampshade. So the cord ends up being in the front of the lamp instead of behind it. Looks ridiculous. Probably not an issue if your base is "hidden" with furniture or something. Notice the pictures online don't show the cord?!
