I bought this set a couple of months ago as an addition to my small apartment. It fits the tiny space I had available for a table and chairs, and the fold down leaf is great when I need more space, but stays conveniently out of the way when I don't. I consider myself to be a pro in assembling furniture as I've put together a variety of items over the years. The assembly was easy until I came to the chair seats. I was expecting pre-drilled holes, but there weren't any. As one of the reviewers noted, this makes for sturdier chair. However, I had to use some creativity and maneuvering to get the seats attached by myself. A friend got me some grey pillows which makes the dining set look quite elegant. I am very pleased with they way it fits in with my other furniture.

The table is attractive with the leaf for added space. It is also very sturdy. It was easy to assemble. I read other reviews that complained about only ones hole in the chair base for the screws. I am not mechanical but even I know what a self drilling screw does. The lack of holes for the screws creates a very sturdy base when you screw the self drilling screws into the base as directed. I am buying seat cushions though. The seats are hard to sit in for a long time. But in using it as a table and a desk so that's on me.

Hubby put it together pretty quickly and without too much swearing so easy to put together. Overall table set looks nice and fits our needs.

There were 2 issues with this item. It arrived damaged with scrapes all over one of the chairs. The paint comes off very easy so that wasn't surprising. The other issue is when you get to the last step of chair assembly there are supposed to be 3 spots where the seat is attached by screws. Well only 1 hole has been drilled at the bottom front of the seat. You can very clearly see where the other 2 holes are supposed to be by lining up the seat with the screw placement of the chair frame but if you are going to attach the seat correctly you have to drill your own very tiny holes. If you don't have a drill and just attach the seat by the only screw hole available, the seat can easily by moved/swung around that one attachment point. I've never seen a piece of furniture with such an obvious flaw. The table however has very easy assembly and arrived flawless, I wish I could return the chairs and keep the table but luckily another retailer had the exact table sold without the chairs!
