A: Hi SGKE, his frame does not have raised edges, but it is equipped with anti-slip tape on the slats to help keep the mattress in place and prevent it from sliding off.

Good for the long haul
I got this bedframe about four years ago for my college apartment, and since then it has survived not one but THREE moves because it was so easy to take apart and reassemble. Feels sturdy and doesn’t make noise. Was a great investment.

Well made, super easy to assemble
Zinus Florence king frame arrived in fine condition. All parts, good paint finish. Directions for assembly excellent. We added foot pads on all the support legs (one of the reviews reported scratched floor). The pads make it very easy to move. Our only complaint-the slats are very far apart and narrow. Lousy mattress support for a platform bed. We had to buy a “bunky” board (you could use plywood) to keep the mattress from gapping through. Be prepared for an additional cost!

Slats!
The slats on the bed are too wide apart (5-7 inches ) to support my memory foam mattress, which requires that a supportive slat be 2-4 inches apart. It would be helpful if this detail was disclosed in the description. Despite being a platform bed, I will need to find a more supportive foundation to place on top of this bed or purchase a new bed frame.

Customer Service Nightmare
This bed was delivered with a bent frame. Just ask for a replacement part and replace it, easy enough, right? NOPE. I’ve been going back and forth with customer service for TWO MONTHS trying to get so much as a lead time for a replacement part. Still no idea when or if I’ll get it, and every time I email, I have to follow up days later asking them to please answer. Don’t waste your time,

So ugly
This frame in gray is the ugliest bed I have ever seen. I wouldn't call it gray, it's more of a state hospital bronze. The material feels cheap. And did I mention it's ugly?

Poor center support design.
Just OK. If you slide the bed along the (bare) floor, the center supports will twist sideways. Then you have to take the mattress off and reposition the center supports. If they twist enough, there is a danger of the slats being displaced. Probably ought to retire this design.

Great! Though...
The bed is great, and a solid bed frame—considering that most metallic frames move more than a standard wood frame, thus making a lot of noise. This one, however, does not. My only qualm is that it aesthetically appears more like a plastic DIY PVC piping than Rich’s romantic Parisian metals.
