A: Dear, thank you for your question! The chairs and bench on the long sides can be mostly pushed in, with just a small portion remaining outside. When the table is fully extended to 78 inches, chairs on the short sides can be pushed in completely. However, when the table is at its shorter 60-inch length (with the extension leaf removed), short-side chairs will extend approximately 11 inches beyond the table.-The Pop Home
