A: There is no seal at all. It's a glass lid on a glass bottom. White cardboard separates top and bottom in packing so it won't get chipped.

I bought these in every size for both my bathroom and my kitchen and pantry. I have found similar ones that are way pricier and honestly I don’t like as much. I’m obsessed with pantry organization so I can assure you I’ve scoured the web and these are the best ones I’ve found. These are such a great value and I love them!! I use the big ones for my oatmeal and bagels, etc. I use the medium sized ones for flour in my pantry and cotton balls in my bathroom. It keeps me organized while making my organization look great.

I use this jar as a cookie holder and it does the job. Very spacious and sturdy. For me it's extremely easy to clean I just throw it in the dishwasher and it's ready for more cookies. Plus it low key makes the cookies look more attractive ha ha

These jars are the absolute best for your starter. I see some people complaining about the lack of seal/these not being air tight—that is IDEAL for a sourdough starter. These are the perfect size for feeding your starter comfortably (they’re quite wide and it makes it easy to stir and to clean, too), as well as nice to look at on the counter! Plus super affordable. I have literally 4 of these bad boys

I was looking for a good glass container for my sourdough starter (pictured) and something to use as a “scoby hotel”. This is perfect for both, since it doesn’t come with a rubber seal and is a wide mouth top (can fit a cup measuring scoop with no problem). While it’s simple and not some fancy glass, it’s perfect if you are shopping on a budget.

Even though there isn’t a seal, this glass jar has so many uses. Store packaged snacks.. flour, sugar.. things like that. Holiday stuff.. I use mine to store protein bars, wrapped snacks.
