This is a piece of junk. It’s nearly impossible to get it pushed up high enough. The pieces are plastic so when you get it pushed up high enough after a lot of muscling it looks like it’s about to snap. It’s such a cute umbrella. It’s unfortunate it’s so poorly made.

Okay, this is a beautiful outdoor umbrella. However, it is not functional at all, the fabric material is not large enough to expand and close the umbrella with ease. My husband has to take the top off of the umbrella base to get it to open and take it back off to close each time. I am not able to even get it close to opening because I am not strong enough… the frame is too small for the fabric… unfortunately I missed the return window.

This looks soooo good! Added as a decoration item for my Mother’s Day brunch. It is not as stable as a big pool umbrella but it does the job and comes in a very compacted bag. You can store it inside until the next time you have someone over. Real pretty.

As everyone else said, completely does not work- it was impossible for me to push it up enough to click into place. I’m glad I didn’t somehow get it to stay open because I don’t know if I could have ever gotten it closed to return 😅

Super Cute aesthetic but unfortunately other reviews are correct. NONFUNCTIONING TO RAISE & LOWER. Umbrella fabric is too tight to push up into place. Only option was to turn the umbrella upside down to open it. However once it was locked in place, it was almost impossible to lower again! Had to remove the upper umbrella from the lower pole, turn it upside down again to attempt to lower it. It was still too tight so had to slip off one of the umbrella corners from the arm in order to push the button to lower it. Sadly had to return.

I bought two of the Hexagon Macrame Patio Umbrellas for my Out Door Roof Top Deck in Pacific Beach in San Diego. I spend hours looking for the right vibe and theme. 1. Macrame design - Checked 2. Unfortunately the Umbrella did not have a lining and it would not protect you from the sun. 3. The umbrella had no crank to open the patio umbrella. 4. The umbrella had no way to fully open and engage to stay open. 5. They also had no cord to pull the umbrella open. 6. I had to get a ladder to stand on to try and open the umbrella; I was unable to open the umbrella even with a ladder. 7. I was so annoyed carrying two umbrellas to the 3rd floor rooftop deck and they would not stay open. They were each $130 from Target BOHO SPendy. 8. I called Customer Service to explain how much time was wasted on these useless umbrellas and why were they not tested for ease of opening the market umbrellas. The Customer Service rep did not even read the previous reviews. 9. No product testing for opening and closing the umbrellas. 10. The price point is extremely outrageous for a non-functioning Boho Hexagon Macrame Outdoor Umbrella $130 each + Tax 11. I truly needed this look for my vacation rental in San Diego and I was hoping to have the umbrellas up for my vacation rental. 13. Do not buy unless you want it indoors and always open. 14. Good luck trying to get it to open completely without standing on it. I didn't but thought about it. I just wanted these umbrellas to be open for my vacation rental guest -NOPE 14. Customer service please send me a gift certificate for all the time I spent on these two flawed umbrellas. 15. My suggested price point: A. non-opening macrame umbrella $35 and add a tool kit with a drill and a rope with a pin to keep it engaged while open. 15. I am hoping to buy your Egg Chair online without any issue for my Boho Chic look. They are $299 each Yes, I have had this vacation rental for 10 years and I am always updating and changing it. Terrible, cheaply made pole and structure. Impossible to open and lift up as no crank and even harder to get down again. Looks cute once up but doesn't actually block sun as full of tiny holes so sun still comes through. Do not buy.

It will not go up unless you force it by turning it upside down. I am returning it.

Just like everyone else said, it's basically not functional. My husband hates this thing and swears it shrunk while outside. Its own tightness is going to break the thing.

There is no crank to put the umbrella up and down. Super cute !

We wanted to love this too- the aesthetics and overall look went with our new outdoor vibe perfectly. We couldn't even get it up initially, my husband had to tip it upside down and force it open- clearly not functional for an umbrella. When attempting to close it, it was so tight/hard to close. We envisioned many fingers pinched in the future. Sadly had to return and opted for a similar, better built open at other store

This umbrella is so hard to open. I can't and my boyfriend almost couldn't. This umbrella is so expensive so it's a major disappointment that it doesn't have a crank or even open without hulk strength. Returning and I bought 2.

Too difficult to open using slider.

I wanted to try this umbrella because it matches my balcony set up better than my current umbrella does. I knew going into it that the macrame design wouldn't completely block out the sun, but I had hoped that it would provide a little more shade than it did. It's also worth noting that fabric of the umbrella makes it difficult to open and close. Since it's so lightweight, it gets knocked over easily when it's windy. I think it would be better to cover a significantly smaller area that has lots of tree coverage and not as much wind, but unfortunately it did not work for me.

The ‘push up lift’ mechanism for the umbrella is IMPOSSIBLE to use. No amount of physical strength or power will actually allow the umbrella to be lifted past the point needed to actually function. For an umbrella that is well over $100.00, they shouldn’t have been so cheap as to not include a crank opening system. So cheaply made…definitely returning, very disappointed.

Love the look of the umbrella! But raising it up and down is very hard! Don’t know that it’s worth $130. Be nice if had a crank to lower and raise it.
