Q: Can I print citificates or awards I have saved on my computer that I have earned. If not what kind of paper do I need that is thick such as awards and citificates.
A: Hello Faithhologen - Congratulations on your accomplishments! Yes, you can absolutely print certificates and awards on Astrodesigns Cardstock. The great news is that it’s acid- and lignin-free, so your certificates won’t yellow over time. Just remember to adjust your printer settings to “cardstock” so it feeds smoothly. If you prefer a more traditional look, you can also use Southworth Ivory Resume Paper. Like Astrodesigns, it’s acid- and lignin-free, but it’s slightly lighter in weight than cardstock. Thanks for your question, and happy printing!

For best results, we recommend setting your printer to a cardstock or heavy paper setting and doing a trial run to ensure the end output meets your expectations.

Q: Does this paper meet USPS standards to make my own postcards?
A: Hello - While USPS doesn't specify paper weight, a minimum thickness of 7pt is required, which corresponds to a paper weight of 65-80 lb cover stock. This item is 65 lb cover stock so it will meet the USPS thickness requirements. Thank you!

Q: Is this shiny or matte? Would colored pencils work?
A: This paper is smooth and matte, like a normal cardstock. It is made by Neenah, which is the highest quality cardstock. Yes, color pencils, calligraphy pen and copic markers work beautifully on it.

Q: is this paper thick enough it print sturdy enough business cards
A: Yes, some people use this cardstock to make business cards. They would be lighter vs what you would likely get through a professional print shop but it will have no issue going through your printer. As a basis of comparison, normal copy paper is 20 lb paper and this is 65 lb paper so it's significantly heavier than normal copy paper. It's also a bright white so the information you put on your business card will display nicely.
