Q: How long does it last outside after carving before it starts to rot?
A: The material losted is Polyeurethane, so I don't think it will rot.

To answer your question, after carving, the pumpkin would not be rotten as it is designed to look like a real pumpkin with a tiny stem, this artificial pumpkin can be easily carved with the designs of your choice without having to deal with gooey pumpkin seeds or pulp. Q: can these pumkins be cut in half and used outdoors?

While the pumpkin theoretically could be cut in half and used elsewhere, it is not recommended that the item be used for outdoors since it is not outdoor tested nor rated so cannot guarantee that product will not deteriorate or go undamaged if placed outside. - Georgia
