There are units meant to span a larger area and withstand the weight. Maybe from somewhere like Home Depot.

Strong Chemical Smell - Not Safe for a Kid’s Room
I bought this organizer more than a month ago, and unfortunately, the strong chemical smell has not gone away. Even after a month, it still has a very unpleasant, gross chemical odor that makes it impossible for me to keep it in my child’s room. I even tried using Arm & Hammer odor eliminators, but the smell is still there. I’m very disappointed with this purchase and would not recommend this organizer, especially for use around children.
