A: Hello Customer. Please note that the charging dock is for the Joy con controller. The Joy con does not need batteries.

Works great!
I love this charging station so I can charge most of my controllers at once. I plugged it into the USB on the back of the TV for charging so it charges anytime my TV is on. Great product!
