Very simply, the holes don’t line up when installing the screws to attach pieces together. Other reviews mention this too. I’ve assembled hundreds of pieces of furniture, and handle most of the maintenance items around my house. This was a very frustrating experience. If you are shopping in this price range, I highly recommend you look for something else.

It's fine. The manufacturing tolerances are terrible, which makes assembly difficult. Given that earlier reviews say this is easy to assemble I can only conclude that once upon a time this was actually the quality of a $300 product, but got "revised" at some point and now it's more like a $100 product. Once it's properly assembled it seems alright, but expect to spend a few hours messing around with it to get it square and level.

I like the design and colors of this chair. However, the seating does not appear sturdy at all, and that one lone bar on the underside of the cushion provides no assurance against us collapsing through. My worst problem was in the assembly. No matter how many times the screws are tightened and loosened, they do not line up. There is always a mm or two of difference preventing one form completing the brackets. This chair will gaslight you and make you question life choices. We eventually hammered it into a very begrudging submission (yes, it was assembled correctly)

While this bench looks good in the picture, it is difficult to assemble, instructions are difficult/impossible to follow, is not as stable and is not likely going to hold the weight promised. It took 2 of us some 2 hours to assemble this. Pieces are not well marked. Instructions are horrible - pictures only and no real help to insure installation in the correct order. Bench lid doesn’t open wide and then won’t stay closed unless cushion or something is placed on the lid. I do not have confidence it will hold 250+ pounds as promised. Components don’t seem that sturdy. Now more decorative with less than stellar storage than promised. Expensive for what ultimately the end product turned out to be. Worse part - terrible directions and difficult to assemble. Not worth the cost or energy required to assemble.

This is a very well made outdoor piece of furniture. It was pretty hard to put together so it takes two people. I love the storage aspect. The seat is wide so be sure you measure the place you're going to put it but it comes in handy for putting my other outdoor cushions in it. It's also a great price for what your getting.

Easy to put together. Very stylish and a great addition to my deck decor. Very comfortable too! Matches well with all of the furniture I already had. This is my second purchase from Lamps plus and I am extremely pleased!!!!

It must have 40 allen wrench bolts and all they give you to assemble it is a tiny little allen wrench. Including a screwdriver with the allen wrench would save at least an hour of assembly, so buy one before you get started. Also, the holes for the two arms were not in the correct places, so the bench rocks a little bit (ie, not level). Overall, a few small things could have made this much better.

This is perfect. Easy to assemble, all parts included and comfortable to sit in. Looks just like pictured. The storage area is just what we needed.
