Q: I have a galley-style kitchen and I want to use this stool so I can sit near the counters and the sink and swivel around. I need to know the minimum space needed. The bottom is wider than the seat.

Price, easily assembled, delivery and stool was exceptional with no problems. Gave 3 stars because very uncomfortable for sittings. I’m an artist spending lots of time working on canvas but I’m disappointed that this wonderful little well constructed stool is uncomfortable. 10 minutes and I’m done.

Okay, based on the picture alone and the brief description, I expected the sitting part to be a bit more cushiony, but it's hard as a rock. Is it sturdy - yes. Does it roll easy on a hard wood floor - yes. Does the piston go up and down - yes, but I'm only 5'1", so I don't need it any higher - it sits pretty high on it's lowest setting. My feet sit pretty comfortably on the round bar on the base, but its a stretch to reach the floor when not sitting on the edge of the stool. Was it easy to put together - yup very very easy. Were the instructions helpful - yes and no - the pictures are pretty easy to follow, and it really isn't that complicated, can you goof it up? yes, you can put the handle in the wrong side in respect to the back bar of the stool, but that could be a good thing if your wanting to do the left vs right hand side switch - it really doesn't affect function at all. It's sturdy and I think it will hold up over time, so yes, it's a good value for the money. I would like the seat to be more squishy, but that's my only comment.
